  • Publication number: 20230363941
Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to systems and methods of retinal injection. In some aspects, a method includes inserting a distal end portion of a hollow conduit of a medical injector into an eye of a patient until the distal end portion reaches a reference location, the medical injector having a housing from which the hollow conduit distally extends and confirming disposal of the distal end portion of the hollow conduit in the reference location. After the confirming, the method further includes extending the distal end portion of the hollow conduit distally relative to the housing and from the reference location such that the distal end portion enters an injection region of the eye. With the distal end portion of the hollow conduit disposed in the injection region of the eye, medicament is conveyed into the injection region via the hollow conduit.

  • Publication number: 20220296869
Abstract: A breakaway medical tubing connector includes a first side member comprising a first housing having an inner wall, a first channel disposed within the first housing, and a first valve disposed within the first channel, wherein the first valve is an active valve and wherein the first valve comprises a diaphragm forming a first seal with the inner wall. The apparatus includes a second side member comprising a second housing, a second channel disposed within the second housing, a second valve disposed within the second channel, and a cannula extending from the second side member toward the first side member. The apparatus further includes a toric joint between the cannula and the first side member, wherein the toric joint forms a second seal between the first and second side members.

  • Patent number: 11291822
Abstract: A breakaway medical tubing connector and method for joining two sections of medical tubing includes a pump side member and a patient side member positioned axially opposite from the pump side member. The patient side member has a first channel disposed within the pump side member and a first valve disposed within the first channel. The pump side member has a second channel disposed within the patient side member and a second valve disposed within the second channel. The first valve may be an active valve and the second valve may be a passive valve. A securing bar may be disposed on the pump side member and a securing arm may be disposed on the patient side member for providing a detachable coupling of the two members.

  • Patent number: 10655768
Abstract: A breakaway connector apparatus for joining a first tubing section to a second tubing section includes a first member and a second member positioned axially opposite the first member. The second member includes a male portion extending from the second member. A housing is disposed between the first and second members, the housing including a socket shaped to receive the male portion of the second member. An axial passage provides a flow path defined inside the housing between the first and second members. A stem is disposed in the axial passage between the first and second members. A first valve is disposed on the first or second member, and the stem engages the first valve and opens the first valve to allow flow between the first and second members through the axial passage when the male portion of the second member is fully received in the socket of the housing.
