  • Publication number: 20220071732
Abstract: A marker delivery device includes a grip, a cannula, a push rod, and a marker element. The cannula extends distally from the grip. The push rod is configured to move within the cannula and includes a distal end with one or more seals configured to seal against an interior of the cannula. The marker element includes one or more barbs. The push rod is configured to generate a pressure within the cannula between the one or more seals and the marker element to eject the marker element from the cannula.

  • Publication number: 20220071733
Abstract: A biopsy site marker includes a carrier and a marker element. The marker element is disposed within the carrier. The carrier including a first marker material and a second marker material. The first marker material and the second marker material are each configured to expand in the presence of moisture. The first marker material is configured to expand at a rapid rate relative to the second marker material in the presence of moisture.

  • Publication number: 20210282888
Abstract: A marker delivery device including a handle assembly, a delivery catheter, and a connection interface. The handle assembly has an upper push rod positioned within the handle assembly. The upper push rod is adapted to translate inside the handle assembly. The delivery catheter is adapted to be inserted into a biopsy site. Also, the delivery catheter has a discharge opening containing a marker and the delivery catheter has a lower push rod positioned inside of the delivery catheter. The lower push rod is configured to engage the upper push rod and the lower push rod is adapted to deploy the marker from the delivery catheter into the biopsy site through the discharge opening with the translation of the upper push rod. The connection interface is configured to removably attach the handle assembly with the delivery catheter and the upper push rod with the lower push rod.

  • Patent number: 11090033
Abstract: A bi-directional depth stop for use with biopsy instrument including a body and a pair of blades. The body defines a channel sized to receive a cannula associated with the biopsy instrument. The channel includes a first pair of opposing concave surfaces and a second pair of opposing concave surfaces. The first pair and second pair of opposing concave surfaces together form a superimposed bi-oval-shaped cross-section. Each blade of the pair of blades projects inwardly into a concave surface of the first pair of opposing concave surfaces such the pair of blades are disposed on an opposing side of the body. In some instances, the concave surfaces may be beneficial to provide rotation of the dept stop in two directions rather than a single direction.

  • Publication number: 20180185111
Abstract: A biopsy system includes a cart and a biopsy device holder. The biopsy device holder is coupled to the cart. The biopsy device holder includes a front holder portion and a rear holder portion. Each holder portion defines an upper support and a lower support. The upper support is configured to support a first biopsy device in lieu of the second biopsy device. The lower support is configured to support a second biopsy device in lieu of the first biopsy device.

  • Publication number: 20170311932
Abstract: A device for use with a biopsy cannula includes a housing and a locking assembly. The housing defines a shaft aperture sized to receive and at least partially circumferentially encompass a biopsy cannula. The locking assembly defines a lock opening configured to receive the biopsy cannula. The locking assembly includes a pair of lock members extending inwardly within the lock opening. The pair of lock members are configured to bind against the biopsy cannula upon translation of the locking assembly relative to the lock opening to a locking position. The locking member and the housing are configured to restrict the depth of insertion of the biopsy cannula through the lock opening when the pair of lock members are bound against the biopsy cannula in the locking position.
