    Abstract: Examples include a wearable device having a frame, a temple and onboard electronics components. The frame can optionally configured to hold one or more optical elements. T temple can optionally connected to the frame at a joint such that the temple is disposable between a collapsed condition and a wearable condition in which the wearable device is wearable by a user to hold the one or more optical elements within user view. The onboard electronics components can be carried by at least one of the frame and the temple and can include a first antenna configured for cellular communication carried by the frame and a second antenna configured for cellular communication carried by one of the frame or the temple.

    Abstract: A slide switch with an elastomer web for eliminating slide backlash and rattle. The elastomer web is disposed in the motion path of a mechanical slider and biases the slider to contact a switch nub. The biased slider eliminates a loose translational motion of the mechanical slider and therefore a user's perception of loose motion or backlash when actuating the switch. The elastomer web improves the user's perception of the mechanical slider's quality. Additionally, the elastomer web allows for larger assembly tolerances between the mechanical slider and the switch nub. An increased assembly tolerance improves yield for mechanical parts and reduces the cost of manufacturing.

    Abstract: A rotary locking joint that has zero backlash is provided to secure a camera mast mounted on a vehicle in a deployed position. The joint is passive to lock while being easily releasable. The joint prevents rotation of the mast in one direction, with a hard stop element that prevents further rotation of the mast in the opposite direction. The locking joint includes a pawl member configured to rotate about a pawl rotation axis. The pawl member is maintained in place in the locked position via a torsion spring to ensure contact with a base portion of the mast. To release the joint, the pawl member is rotated in the opposite direction to remove a geometry interference condition. A sensor is arranged to detect whether the pawl member is in an unlocked position relative to the mast.
