  • Publication number: 20230183732
Abstract: The present disclosure is in the field of plant breeding and disease resistance. A method for the development of a corn plant enhanced for resistance to Colletotrichum graminicola and secondarily to Fusarium spp., both of which incite stalk rot disease, is provided. Also provided is a method to identify corn plants with polynucleotide sequences identified to serve as diagnostic markers for resistance to these pathogens. Further described is the introgression of desired genetic material from one or more parent plants into progeny with precision and accuracy to increase their resistance to these diseases with minimal linkage drag from the donor genome.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20230073514
Abstract: The invention relates to a wheat haploid inducer plant comprising at least one cell which presents inhibition of the expression of the three NLD genes of genome A, B and D, and at least one dominant or semi-dominant genetic marker, wherein said genetic marker produces, a detectable phenotype, as well as methods of uses.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 11445671
Abstract: The present invention concerns an isolated polynucleotide responsible of haploid induction in maize plants and related processes. Additionally, the invention relates to plants that have been genetically transformed with the polynucleotide of the invention. The invention also relates to a process for screening a mutant plant population for enhanced haploid induction by using said isolated polynucleotide. The invention further relates to molecular markers associated with haploid induction in maize plants and their use in quality control for inducer lines.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 2016
Date of Patent: September 20, 2022
