  • Patent number: 5140519
Abstract: A method of monitoring patient data generates an optimal overview. The patient data is sensed by appropriate sensors and displayed as parameter values assigned to individual organ systems. A data field contains a plurality of parameter values and overview graphic images referring to organ systems are formed from this data field with the aid of a network switch and are displayed in response to a retrieval command.

  • Patent number: 5007688
Abstract: A mobile intensive care unit for the reception of devices and instruments, which are arranged in various sections of a frame, is improved so that an ergonomically coordinated arrangement of the devices is possible, allowing for a combined use and control from an operating level for the parameters to be set and controlled, and also allowing for uninhibited access to the various sections. For this purpose the sections, which are inclined away from the vertical plane at several different angles, are superimposed in connected levels; in an upper section, a middle section, and a lower section for the reception and use of the devices.

  • Patent number: 4917080
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for controlling a ventilating apparatus wherein an adjustment selected according to patient data is changed for optimization after a work-in time period. A first simulator unit simulating the characteristic values of the ventilating apparatus and a second simulator unit simulating patient parameters taken from patient data are connected to a ventilating apparatus such that the new adjustment is processed first on the first simulator unit with unchanged adjustment of the ventilating apparatus. The resulting output values of the first simulator unit are coupled with the patient data of the second simulator unit such that the effects of the changed adjustment on the patient are derived as simulated new patient data. A switchover of the ventilating apparatus to the new adjustment can take palce by means of a control command.

  • Patent number: 4579115
Abstract: With closed respiratory systems, the patient's respiratory tract is tightly connected to a closed volume to which breathing gas is supplied only in the amount taken in by the patient. To this end, the breathing gas supply must be controlled. The controlled variable is either the pressure in the ventilating circuit, or the concentration of oxygen or the anesthetic gas in the breathing gas. A dropping pressure indicates either an increased consumption or a leak. To avoid insufficient or excessive loading of the patient, it is very important to be able to distinguish consumption from a leak. The inventive device makes this distinction possible. The breathing gas amounts are adjusted in the ventilating circuit at preset different pressures and are compared with each other, and the leak portion is computed therefrom.
