Abstract: A method and appertaining system implement the use of manufacturing protocols for hearing aid design such that the ability to build an instrument can be displayed as a numeric parameter based on the partial numerical and metrological contributions of all the essential parameters of the given impression, and a buildability index can be displayed as a 3D virtual image of the proposed shell or preferred shell types. The method utilizes a predefined parameter table comprising parameters to utilize for a buildability determination. The buildability index is computed based on impression shape data, selected shell type, selected number of device options, data obtained from the parameter table, and data obtained from a receiver table, and the buildability index is output to a display of a user interface device or an external system.

Abstract: A system and appertaining algorithm provide a cutting and shaping of the hearing aid shell using an Ellipsoidal Line Cut that increases the speed of detailing operations and enables a creation of more cosmetically appealing shells. A contour algorithm determines a projected contour on the bottom cut plane that corresponds in shape to a portion of the line cut plane contour, and a merger algorithm defines a line cut surface between the portion of the line cut plane contour and the projected contour. An elimination algorithm eliminates parts of the new hearing aid shell design that extend beyond boundaries defined by the original hearing aid shell design.

Abstract: The aim is to provide a system and a method which purchasing communities can use to organize themselves better. To this end, provision is made for one or more manufacturers to stipulate at least one supply unit. A plurality of customers organize themselves in at least one virtual room. The supply unit is finally presented via a data network in the virtual room. This allows the purchasers to benefit from increased discounts and allows the manufacturers to generate additional sales.

Abstract: A remote control device is provided for a hearing device, and which comprises an input interface which receives input information. A conversion device converts the input information into hearing device control commands. A transmission device transmits the hearing device control commands to the hearing device.

Abstract: To assist in the standardization of communication protocols and individual register models of various hearing devices, the register in the DSP/ASIC of a hearing device has a standardized interface in the DSP/ASIC. An application-specific, universal generic command set that is transferred via the communication interface can be used therewith. Thus command set can be standardized over hearing device families, IC generations and across manufacturers, such that a universal software for adaptation of hearing devices can be achieved.

Abstract: The interface between the applications of various audiological devices to various data administration systems should be improved. Therefore, a universal interface is inventively proposed that has a uniform interface for the applications and a plurality of interfaces for the various data administration systems. In addition to this, the corresponding conversion routines are provided. Moreover, a class framework can be provided in the interface, such that it achieves a consistent access to the universal interface.
