  • Patent number: 9603201
Abstract: The disclosure herein provides for transmitting data from an induction heating device to a receiver of an inductively heatable cooking vessel. The induction heating device may include a resonant circuit with an induction heating coil and a converter that may generate a control voltage (UA) from an AC mains voltage (UN) with a control frequency. The resonant circuit may be applied with a control voltage in order to generate an alternating magnetic field for heating the cooking vessel. The data to be transmitted to the receiver may be encoded using the the control frequency.

    Inventors: Jorg Bogel, Michael Eberle
  • Patent number: 7910865
Abstract: An arrangement for controlling induction coils of an induction cooking hob so as to minimize noise production resulting from intermodulation of certain frequencies of operation. The induction coils are operated in two modes, with a first mode at the same frequency fg so to produce a low intermodulation or differential frequency, or at a second mode having a high differential frequency of about 18 kHz. Alternating back and forth between said modes of operation makes it possible to reach predefined average values for the power of the induction coils for a given time period, while at the same time minimizing development of disturbing noise.

  • Patent number: 7688601
Abstract: In order to increase the power of an induction heating device or in order to avoid system reactions when driving the latter, either the pulse widths of the two switching means can be made unsymmetrical in the case of half-bridge driving up to the half-point of a half-cycle. Alternatively, a dead time between the pulse width can be extended. This advantageously takes place without interruption and continuously. In the course of a half-cycle, the power is thus reduced given an unaltered operating frequency and an inductor current has virtually an ideal sine-wave form.
