  • Patent number: 6494164
Abstract: A process and an apparatus are described for adding additives during the conditioning of animal feed. The feed is transferred from a container (1) into a conditioner (3) via a feed screw (2) at an inlet point (M). In the conditioner (3), the feed is transported by a mixing screw (12) from an inlet point (M) along a path (A) to an exit point (N), and is exposed to vapor in the course of this. One or more additives (5) which are introduced into the conditioner (3) through one or more ports (10) are added to the feed which, has passed through x% of the path (A) in the conditioner (3). The feed and the additives (5) added through one or more ports (10) are mixed on the remaining (100-x)% of the path (A) to form a mixture (6). The mixture (6) leaving the conditioner (3) at the exit point (N) is transferred to a pelleting press (7), where the mixture (6) is formed into pellets (8). • Patent number: 6109151
Abstract: In a method for machining a chamfer at a pipe end, clamped in a radial clamping device, to exact positional and dimensional tolerances as a function of a measured course of an inner and an outer diameter of the pipe, an actual position of the pipe end clamped in the radial clamping device is determined with a first sensing device. Based on the determined actual position, in a controlled manner a machining tool is quickly advanced to the pipe end. With a second sensing device at least one of the actual inner diameter of the pipe and the actual outer diameter of the pipe is determined, and optionally the course of one of the actual inner diameter and the actual outer diameter about the circumference of the pipe is also determined. The machining tool is adjusted based on one of the actual inner diameter, the actual outer diameter, the nominal inner diameter and the nominal outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 5894771
Abstract: Process and arrangement for cutting and/or chamfering pipe front rims of pipes, in particular thick-walled pipes which are used for manufacturing ball bearings. The process includes the steps of measuring the actual external diameter of the pipe or inputting the data of the nominal external diameter of the pipe, moving of at least one cutting head towards abutting contact with the exterior surface of the pipe in a rapid transverse motion in accordance with measurements stored in a control unit, switching the feed motion and/or the cutting speed to conform to the machining process which has been adapted to the material of the pipe for the rapid cutting of a ring piece from the pipe blank. The external periphery of the pipe generally consisting of a hard zone which is being cut by a slower cutting speed and said cutting speed is increased once said hard zone has been fully traversed by the cutting tools mounted on the cutting head.

  • Patent number: 5534879
Abstract: A connecting element for a glass sheet of multi-pane glass, in particular of laminated glass, which incorporates at least an outer pane, an inner pane and a laminating element joining the panes to one another, as well as an electrical arrangement located between the panes, the connecting element incorporating at least a metal foil strip being at least partly insulated, being connectable to the electrical arrangement and bondable to the outside of the inner pane. To make it possible that the connection to the electrical arrangement can already take place prior to the laminating process and to provide assurance for the connecting element against peeling off during manipulation of the finished glass sheet the inner section of the metal foil strip connectable to the electrical arrangement extends between the inner pane and the outer pane.
