  • Patent number: 9165341
Abstract: In the case of a measuring device for recording a sequence of individual images (6, 7, 8) in a non-visible spectral range, a method for generating an SR image (11) having an image resolution that is higher than an image resolution of the individual images (6, 7, 8) is provided, wherein, for the individual images (6, 7, 8), a displacement vector field (11, 12) is determined with a calculation of the optical flow and the individual images (6, 7, 8) are segmented into segments (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) with regard to the values of the displacement vector field (11, 12), and an optimization method is carried out for calculating the SR image (11) from the individual images (6, 7, 8) with variation parameters individually assigned to the segments (20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25).

  • Patent number: 6626159
Abstract: The gas distributor apparatus has a common gas-supply line for supplying gas to a plurality of devices, e.g., arranged in series, the gas-supply line representing a substructure with an inner supply orifice and connecting pieces, which conform in number to the devices for injecting a fuel-gas mixture, and which extend in a normal direction starting from the gas-supply line and contain branched-off ports that communicate directly with the supply orifice. A permanent connection is established between the gas distributor apparatus and the devices in that gas-intake ducts are configured on the gas-containing bodies at least partially surrounding the devices, the gas-intake ducts having functional elements and projecting with these elements into the connecting pieces of the gas distributor apparatus. The gas is made available simultaneously for all devices in the supply orifice and then flows in each case via one connecting piece to a device.

  • Patent number: 6053153
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for motor vehicles, with an intake tube for aspirating combustion air, in which the tube leads to at least one combustion cylinder, and in which tube a throttle valve is disposed. The intake tube effects a mixing of combustion air and fuel vapor downstream of the throttle valve. For the sake of intensive mixing of fuel vapor and combustion air into a largely homogeneous mixture, the fuel vapor generated in a fuel evaporator outside the intake tube is introduced via a delivery device into air turbulence paths that unavoidably develop downstream of the throttle valve in the intake tube as a consequence of the geometry of the intake tube and/or throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 5850822
Abstract: A fuel injection arrangement for an internal combustion engine which has at least one combustion space and at least one intake pipe leading to this combustion space, with two fuel injection valves opening into the intake pipe upstream from at least one inlet valve. One fuel injection valve has a heater adapter. While only the fuel injection valve with the heater adapter is operated during cold start and the warm-up phase of the internal combustion engine, to a great extent, and the fuel injection valve without a heater is not in operation, a switch from one fuel injection valve to the other takes place at a point in time which is determined on the basis of the value of various operating parameters. The fuel injection arrangement is particularly suitable for use in mixture-compressing, outside-ignition internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 5694906
Abstract: A fuel injection system for a combustion engine having an injection valve with a fuel vaporizer into whose inlet orifice fuel can be injected from the injection valve and out of whose outlet orifice a fuel stream is discharged, and having an air supply system that supplies air to the fuel vaporizer for mixing with the fuel stream. To improve the fuel delivery from the fuel vaporizer, the air supply system has an air blow-out device mounted in the area of the outlet orifice of the fuel vaporizer through which the air to be added to the fuel stream is supplied to the fuel stream discharged from the fuel vaporizer.

  • Patent number: 5542292
Abstract: In a method and device for monitoring a secondary-air system, a first value is determined which characterizes the secondary air stream blown by the secondary-air system into the exhaust-gas channel of an internal combustion engine. On the basis of this first value, the functioning of the secondary-air system is judged. If the first value lies within a predeterminable interval, it is concluded that the secondary-air system is operating properly. If the first value, on the other hand, lies outside of this predeterminable interval, it is concluded that a malfunction is present. The first value is determined from a second value which characterizes the stream of air fed to the internal combustion engine, from the air/fuel ratio of the mixture drawn in by the internal combustion engine, and from the air/fuel ratio prevailing in the exhaust-gas channel downstream of the place of introduction of the secondary-air line.
