Publication number: 20220339405Abstract: A device for catheterization is disclosed. Such a device includes a hollow catheter, a cylindrical sheath, and a flange through which the catheter passes. Before insertion, the sheath begins at a first opening near the catheter tip and extends into the catheter to a first circumferential fold, then back towards the catheter tip to a second circumferential fold about the tip to the exterior surface, and ends at a second opening attached to the flange. As the device is inserted up to a length, the flange abuts the cavity opening, and a corresponding length of the sheath deploys from the catheter interior, around the first and second circumferential folds, to the catheter outer surface. Once fully inserted, all, or a substantial portion, of the sheath initially positioned within the catheter has been deployed to the outer surface, thereby forming a protective barrier between the catheter and the surrounding tissues.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2022Publication date: October 27, 2022Inventors: Catherine Gilbert, Jorge Nagel

Patent number: 7386287Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for adjusting the amplification of a high frequency signal, a transmitter or receiver unit and a communication system. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and device for improved use of a polar-loop concept in a transmitter, especially for a mobile radio link. According to the method for adjusting the amplification of a high frequency signal, wherein the phase angle and the amplitude of an error-free input signal are separated from each other with a defined part of an output signal and readjusted, an output voltage of a battery voltage modulator is evaluated as a measure for an error at the output of a transmitter amplifier and taken into account in order to provide a correction.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2002Date of Patent: June 10, 2008Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Roland Jenkins, Ralf Herzberg, Jörg Nagel, Mathias Kleinsorge

Publication number: 20070219720Abstract: A navigation and control system including a sensor configured to locate objects in a predetermined field of view from a vehicle. The sensor has an emitter configured to repeatedly scan a beam into a two-dimensional sector of a plane defined with respect to a first predetermined axis of the vehicle, and a detector configured to detect a reflection of the emitted beam from one of the objects. The sensor includes a panning mechanism configured to pan the plane in which the beam is scanned about a second predetermined axis to produce a three dimensional field of view. The navigation and control system includes a processor configured to determine the existence and location of the objects in the three dimensional field of view based on a position of the vehicle and a time between an emittance of the beam and a reception of the reflection of the emitted beam from one of the objects.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: The Gray Insurance CompanyInventors: Paul Trepagnier, Jorge Nagel, Powell Kinney, Matthew Dooner, Bruce Wilson, Carl Schneider, Keith Goeller

Publication number: 20070093218Abstract: An HF circuit arrangement is provided for amplitude and phase modulation of an HF carrier signal, including an oscillator for providing the HF carrier signal, an amplifier for amplifying the HF signal emitted by the oscillator, a phase control circuit for suppressing phase errors in an output signal of the amplifier, an amplitude control circuit for suppressing amplitude errors in the output signal of the amplifier, and a signal decoupling unit for decoupling the output signal of the amplifier for the amplitude control circuit and the phase control circuit. The present invention seeks to improve modulation quality and to reduce nose sidebands. For this purpose, a bandwidth of a control circuit can be adjusted via a bandwidth adjusting device. Such bandwidth adjusting device is provided with a characteristic curve which includes an allocation between the bandwidth of the control circuit and measured values for a parameter on which the bandwidth of the control circuit depends.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2004Publication date: April 26, 2007Inventor: Jorg Nagel

Patent number: 7013114Abstract: According to the present invention, the resistance to interference of a transmitting device, which is particularly embodied as a high frequency transmitter with a transmitter amplifier may be improved, whereby a loss-affected network, for example, in the form of a matching resistance, is coupled to the output of the transmitter amplifier, particularly in the case of low output power of the transmitter amplifier, in order to introduce an impedance-matching at the output of the transmitter amplifier. As such, the reflection of an interference signal coming from a transmitter antenna at the output of the transmitter amplifier can thus be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2001Date of Patent: March 14, 2006Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Mathias Kleinsorge, Jörg Nagel

Publication number: 20050062538Abstract: An RF power amplifier is disclosed having a measuring device to measure the operating current of the amplifier, where the measuring device presents a low load. The low load is achieved by the RF power amplifier divided into a main amplifier and a measuring amplifier, a RF useful signal to be amplified being applied to the main amplifier. The measuring amplifier has a transistor to whose base is applied the RF useful signal, and whose emitter is connected to ground via a measuring resistor to produce a measured voltage reproducing the operating current of the RF power amplifier. Matching circuitry matches a bias voltage of the second transistor to the bias voltage of the first transistor in order to set an operating point of the second transistor. A load is connected to the collector of the first transistor and to the collector of the second transistor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2004Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventors: Ralf Herzberg, Jorg Nagel

Publication number: 20040053580Abstract: According to the invention, the resistance to interference of a transmitting device, in particular embodied as a high frequency transmitter with a transmitter amplifier (2) may be improved, whereby a loss-affected network, for example, in the form of a matching resistance (8), is coupled to the output of the transmitter amplifier (2), in particular in the case of low output power of the transmitter amplifier (2), in order to introduce an impedance-matching at the output of the transmitter amplifier (2). The reflection of an interference signal (A) coming from a transmitter antenna (4) at the output of the transmitter amplifier (2) can thus be reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 3, 2003Publication date: March 18, 2004Inventors: Mathias Kleinsorge, Jorg Nagel
