  • Patent number: 7656095
Abstract: A lighting system with a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (2) and an operating device (1) is connected to a high-voltage flat ribbon cable (6). As a result, the capacitive line losses can be minimized and both the ignition behavior and the power consumption of the lamp (2) can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20090026955
Abstract: A discharge lamp with a cast base has two electrodes for feeding power into the discharge vessel, two current feeds for making contact with the electrodes from the outside and a lamp base with a recess for receiving one end of the discharge vessel. In this context, one end of the discharge vessel is introduced into the recess in the lamp base. Between the lamp base and the discharge vessel there is an intermediate space. The current feeds are located at least partially within the intermediate space. This intermediate space has been cast with a sealing compound so that the sealing compound fills at least part of the interspace and encloses the end of the discharge vessel in such a way that the current feeds of the discharge lamp are sealed off from the outside in so far as being located within the lamp base.

  • Publication number: 20080001542
Abstract: A dielectric barrier discharge lamp with a discharge vessel (6) having inner electrodes (7) and with a gas-impermeable stopper (10). The stopper (10) has power supply lines (2) making contact with the inner electrodes (7). The gas-impermeable stopper (10) is incorporated in the discharge vessel (6) as a cohesively handleable part, by it being introduced into an opening of the discharge vessel (6). In this case, the opening of the discharge vessel (6) is sealed in a gas-tight manner by the stopper (10) via a change in shape of the discharge vessel (6) and/or of the stopper (10).

  • Patent number: 7025472
Abstract: A coupling element (2) is proposed for the combining of at least two elongate lamps with in each case two ends. For this purpose, the coupling element (2) has a continuous receptacle area which is provided for receiving an end of each lamp. The receptacle area comprises a reflector (6) in order to reduce the luminance decrease in the region between the lamp ends. With one or a plurality of coupling elements according to the invention in conjunction with two or more elongate lamps, illumination systems having different luminous lengths can be realized in a modular manner.

  • Publication number: 20050253525
Abstract: A tubular dielectric barrier discharge lamp having a discharge vessel and at least one inner wall electrode has, at least at one end, a constriction 9, which extends along the entire circumference of the discharge vessel and tapers in the direction opposite to the interior of the discharge vessel. The constriction 9 serves the purpose of sealing this end of the discharge vessel in a gas-tight manner via a closure element 4, which is in the form of an exhaust plate and is inserted at this point. The tapering of the discharge tube for the purpose of forming the constriction 9 prevents or at least markedly reduces any negative effect of the electrode spacing and/or the thickness of the dielectric coating of the electrodes in the region of the discharge space which is immediately adjacent to the constriction 9.
