Publication number: 20250075718Abstract: A riveted joint in which a rivet foot of a rivet element is driven into a component with a setting force, in particular by spreading the rivet foot. The rivet foot has a reduced cross-section in the still undeformed state and has an expanded cross-section in the driven-in state. The rivet foot is designed as a bistable spring portion that has two equilibrium states, namely the undeformed cross-section-reduced state and an expanded spread state. As a result of the setting force being applied, the rivet element changes from the undeformed state to the spread state, in which the rivet foot is spread with an expanded cross-section in the component, in particular without the build-up of a springback force that biases the rivet element towards the undeformed state.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2022Publication date: March 6, 2025Applicant: AUDI AGInventors: Jan-Oliver BRASSEL, Jörg SPINDLER, Jochen RINTELMANN, Patrick SIEGMANN, Alexander WARKENTIN

Publication number: 20240426330Abstract: A punch rivet connection having at least two joining partners, which are connectable to one another in a setting process, in which a semi-tubular punch rivet is drivable in a setting direction with its rivet foot through the setting-side joining partner into the die-side joining partner, while maintaining a residual base thickness in the die-side joining partner and with spreading of the rivet foot, so that the joining partner, viewed in the setting direction, is clamped under compressive stress between a rivet head and a rivet foot cutting edge of the semi-tubular punch rivet. The setting-side joining partner includes a pilot hole through which the semi-tubular punch rivet is drivable into the die-side joining partner, so that in the setting-side joining partner a build-up of shear stress transverse to the setting direction is reduced or eliminated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: December 26, 2024Applicant: AUDI AGInventors: Jan-Oliver BRASSEL, Jörg SPINDLER, Jochen RINTELMANN

Publication number: 20230400047Abstract: A functional component which is designed to be secured to a holding component by pressing a connecting element into a depression of the holding component. In a non-deformed state, the connecting element protrudes in a press-in direction from a base body of the functional component and is designed to be deformed by applying a force to the base body, so that the connecting element is widened in an end area and the end area is introduced into a wall of the depression. The base body includes a contact surface surrounding the connecting element which abuts a support surface of the holding component in a coupled state of the functional component. A functional module of the functional component is provided by a partial area of the base body facing away from the contact surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2021Publication date: December 14, 2023Applicant: AUDI AGInventors: Jan-Oliver BRASSEL, Jochen RINTELMANN, Jörg SPINDLER

Patent number: 10646911Abstract: A method for producing a complex sheet metal part includes clamping a border region of the metal sheet between a die ring of an upper tool part of a pressing tool and a downholder of a lower tool part of the pressing tool; moving the upper tool part further downwards thereby pulling the metal sheet over extended punch inserts of a punch of the lower tool part, thereby generating local material reserves of the metal sheet; moving the upper tool part further downwards while actively retracting the punch inserts, thereby releasing the local material reserves; and forming the metal sheet between the die and the punch using only the local material reserves.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2017Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Audi AGInventors: Timo Alpen, Holger Dierolf, Jörg Spindler, Torsten Schilling, Bernhard Oberpriller

Patent number: 8092650Abstract: This invention relates to a method for producing or treating a fibrous web, in particular a paper web or paperboard web, with which at least one property of the fibrous web, in particular a CD (cross direction) profile, such as the moisture CD profile, is established such that a preselected quality range is adhered to or a predefined quality value is undershot by no more than a predefined deviation, wherein the power consumption of the method, in particular the heat energy input, is reduced therewith by establishing at least one property such that the lowest permissible value of the quality range or the maximum permissible deviation is reached at least approximately on a straight line.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2007Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Voith Patent GmbHInventors: Rudolf Münch, Jörg Spindler, Ulrich Mailänder, Karl Martin Olf

Publication number: 20090199987Abstract: This invention relates to a dewatering apparatus, in particular a paper machine or a paperboard machine, for the adjustable, and controllable dewatering of a fibrous material, which is conveyed as a fibrous web that can be divided into at least two zones arranged side by side in a cross direction (CD). The dewatering apparatus is characterized in that the dewatering of the fibrous material is adaptable to a dewatering curve defined in a machine direction on the basis of measurements of the water weight of the fibrous material taken by at least two water weight sensors, in particular a one-dimensional or multi-dimensional sensor arrangement of water weight sensors, which are assigned to a zone and arranged preferably in pairs in mutually offset position in the CD direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2009Publication date: August 13, 2009Inventors: Jorg Spindler, Niels Hardt, Rudolf Munch, Oliver Kaufmann, Jens Haag, Armin Bauer, Hartmut Abel
