  • Patent number: 6574613
Abstract: A system and a method for diagnosis of engine conditions are proposed. In particular, the system and the method are directed to an extraction of features from different information sources and to their processing. These features, together with a series connection of two neural networks, form the crux of the system and method, so that a dependable diagnosis of engine conditions, particularly an error recognition is possible. As a result thereof, maintenance corresponding to the current engine condition is enabled.

  • Patent number: 6539971
Abstract: A technique of assembling a solenoid operated valve to a hydraulic manifold in which the manifold has provided thereon undercut stanchions disposed on opposite sides of a cavity communicating with fluid valving passages. A U-shaped bracket with a central aperture is received over the solenoid and a first pair of tabs which engage lugs disposed respectively on opposite sides of the valve body function to prevent relative rotation between the bracket and valve. The bracket has a pair of oppositely extending resiliently deflectable spring arms each having a pair of second tabs thereon; and, the spring arms are deflected on the stanchions upon user insertion of the valve body into the cavity. The spring arms resiliently engage the undercuts to prevent removal of the valve, and the second tabs engage the sides of the stanchions to prevent relative rotation of the bracket and valve.

  • Publication number: 20030042451
Abstract: A solenoid operated valve having a valve obturator moved by an armature disposed within a coil. A stationary pole piece is disposed to define with the end of the armature cooperating opposing surfaces defining a working air gap. One of the cooperating surfaces has an annular rib formed integrally on one of the pole piece and armature with the rib operative to prevent sufficient flux concentration to cause residual magnetic latching of the closed air gap upon energization and consequent armature sticking when the coil is de-energized.
