  • Patent number: 7124718
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a piston dividing a cylinder into first and second variable volume chambers on either side thereof. One chamber admits and compresses air which is delivered to another chamber for combustion. The other chamber admits combustion gasses, causing the piston to translate in the cylinder. In one embodiment, combustion of fuel occurs in a combustion chamber separate from the first and second variable volume chambers. In one embodiment, the translation of the piston effects movement of a connecting rod connected to an output shaft. In another embodiment, the piston is mounted on an output shaft and translation of the piston causes the piston to rotate, thus effecting rotation of the output shaft.

  • Patent number: 6742482
Abstract: A two-cycle engine having improved performance characteristics includes a block and a cylinder head coupled to the block, the cylinder head defining a cylinder bore and a precombustion chamber. The head of piston located in the cylinder bore divides the bore into first and second variable volume intake chambers. An intake port allows fresh air to be drawn into the variable volume intake chamber and be compressed by the moving piston and delivered to the precombustion chamber. Fuel is added to the compressed air, which is heated, and then delivered to the variable volume combustion chamber. In one embodiment, the piston drives a crankshaft which is mounted both for rotation and for translation. Another embodiment of the invention is a lubricating system for a piston where movement of the piston up and down generates a pumping effect moving lubricant through the piston for lubricating piston rings.

Abstract: A two-cycle engine having improved performance characteristics is disclosed. In one embodiment, the engine includes a block and a cylinder head coupled to the block, the cylinder head defining a cylinder bore and a precombustion chamber. The cylinder bore is generally closed at a top and bottom end, and the head of piston located in the cylinder bore divides the bore into a first variable volume intake chamber and a second variable volume combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 6467101
Abstract: A toilet flushing and cleaning device includes a reservoir with a cylinder and a mixing tube disposed therein. The cylinder communicates with a water source. A plunger is slidably disposed in the cylinder. A plurality of spray nozzles communicate with the mixing tube. When a flush valve is opened to allow water into the cylinder, the piston is driven upwards. The increase in air pressure drives pressurized air and water into the mixing tube such that the spray nozzles clean the toilet with a burst of air-water mixture. In a further embodiment, a funnel is disposed in the toilet bowl and a bucket is suspended at the lower opening of the funnel. When the piston is driven upwards, the bucket is pivoted to release its contents. Additionally, a blower disposed between the funnel and the toilet bowl may be used to drawing air and odors from inside said funnel and directing air into said toilet bowl for release through the existing drain pipe and vent pipe.
