  • Publication number: 20240092030
Abstract: In an example implementation, a system including a computer including a processor and a memory. The memory includes instructions such that the processor is programmed to convert G-code to G-node data, generate a plurality of windows based on G-node segments, calculate an average velocity based on the plurality of windows, where the velocity corresponds to a 3D printer head. The processor is also programmed to determine a temperature corresponding to the average velocity, and insert a G-code heat command into a G-code command file based on the determined temperature. The processor can be further programmed to insert a pre-heat G-code command into the G-code command file.

  • Publication number: 20240092031
Abstract: A method and three-dimensional printer for compensating for build surface topography. The printer including a controller including executable code to carry out the method of measuring a position of a build surface in a z-axis at a number of points on the build surface when the build surface is pressed against a fixed point on a print head, fitting an x, y-plane to at least three of the number of points on the build surface, leveling the build surface by rotating the x, y-plane around the point of origin in the z-axis, creating a topographic compensation map based on the position of the build surface measured at the number of points on the build surface, and adjusting the distance between the fixed point on the first print head and the build surface during printing referencing the topographic compensation map.

  • Publication number: 20230405924
Abstract: A heated nozzle assembly for a three-dimensional printer includes a shank defining a feed end and a first internal flow passage, where the feed end is fluidly coupled to the first internal flow passage. The heated nozzle assembly also includes a shank barrel coupled to the shank that includes a second internal flow passage and a body portion. The second internal flow passage of the shank barrel is fluidly coupled to the first internal flow passage of the shank and the body portion of the shank barrel defines a plurality of heater segments that are disposed along the body portion of the shank barrel that are thermally isolated from one another. The heated nozzle assembly includes a plurality of heating elements that each correspond to one of the plurality of heater segments disposed along the length of the body portion of the shank barrel.

  • Publication number: 20230367287
Abstract: A system for determining estimated conditions of a finished printed part generated by a three-dimensional printer includes one or more processors for receiving one or more numerical control code files and machine parameters. The system includes a memory coupled to the one or more processors that stores data comprising a database and program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to parse the one or more numerical control code files into parsed numerical control code files. The one or more processors determine an updated machine state of the three-dimensional printer based on the parsed numerical control code files and the machine parameters and combine the updated machine state with the parsed numerical control code files to create one or more nodes. The system receives one or more operator inputs and creates one or more print analyses.

  • Publication number: 20230266740
Abstract: A process of optimizing a 3D printing process parameters and a processor control system for executing the process including parsing computer numerical control code for printing a 3D object into a plurality of chunks, determining a process value for each of the plurality of chunks, selecting a scaling factor, and adjusting a paired process parameter in the computer numerical control code for each of the plurality of chunks based on the scaling factor.
