  • Patent number: 8072273
Abstract: A synchronized clock system, for use with an electronic system having several system nodes requiring a synchronized clock signal. The clock system may be formed in either discrete form or in integrated form, or in any combination, and includes a first synch bus and a second synch bus, isolated from the first synch bus, and at least one pair and preferably several pairs of SXO modules connected to the busses in alternating fashion. Each of the system nodes is connected at a different one of any number of arbitrarily selected connection points anywhere along the first bus. • Patent number: 7812682
Abstract: A crystal oscillator-based module, which includes a crystal resonator receiving a conditioned signal from a first bus and passing a resonator signal to a sustaining stage amplifier. A synchronization range expansion circuit is connected between a gain control network and the resonator. A tri-state buffer has a main input connected to receive the resonator signal through a buffer. The output of the tri-state buffer is connected to a second bus, through a matching network if necessary. A synchronous clock system can be formed by connecting these modules alternately to the two busses. The tri-state buffer also has a control input, which may be connected to a delay circuit between Vcc and ground, so as to allow hot swapping and for other benefits.

  • Publication number: 20080224046
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of processing non-refrigerated lead selenide infrared detectors, consisting in: 1) selecting the substrate and preparing same; 2) delineating and depositing multilayer interference filters; and 3) treating polycrystalline lead selenide infrared detectors on the interference filters, comprising the following steps, namely 3a) metal deposition, 3b) delineation of the metal deposit, 3c) delineation of the sensor, 3d) PbSe deposition by means of thermal evaporation, 3f) processing of sensor, 3g) thermal treatment in order to sensitise the active material, and 3h) deposition of a passivator layer on the active material. The inventive method is unique in that it can be used to treat differently-shaped non-refrigerated infrared detectors on the same substrate, including discrete elements, multielements, linear matrices, two-dimensional matrices, etc., with the responses of each being modified by design by the corresponding interference filter.

  • Patent number: 6802799
Abstract: An apparatus for practicing martial arts defensive acts such as Karate kicking. The Karate Kick Exercise apparatus has a base frame, which is attached to a surface. The base frame has upright members that pivot on the base frame. The upright members have a top frame that also pivots on the upright members. A kicking target is attached to a kicking surface member, which in turn is attached to the top frame. The upright members are held in place by a spring-loaded air cylinder that holds the apparatus upright and provides means of absorbing the blows provided by a kicker. The frame pivots in the same direction as the air cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20020034767
Abstract: G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRK) play an important role in phosphorylating and regulating the activity of G protein-coupled receptors. Complementary DNAs (cDNAs)that encode two novel members of the G protein-coupled receptor kinase (GRK) family are provided in the present invention. These cDNAs encode GRK5 (590 amino acids) and GRK6 (576 amino acids) which represent two new members of the GRK family that have distinct tissue distribution and substrate specificity. The availability of the cDNAs enables the generation of reagents to modulate the activity of endogenous kinases. These include dominant negative mutations and antisense oligonucleotides or stably transfected antisense constructs to block expression of the kinase to generate a cell with a reduced ability to desensitize to various agents. Expression of GRK5 and GRK6 also permits identification of specific inhibitors and activators of these two kinases.
