    Abstract: A cold plate for maintaining specimen samples for dissection at desired cooled temperatures includes a metal plate having an aperture therethrough to receive a removable dark frosted glass piece capable of transmitting light therethrough. The metal plate is equipped with an integrally embedded hollow matrix of tubing to circulate a cooling medium delivered from a remotely operated refrigeration system. In addition, a remotely-operated lighting system is provided to illuminate the dark frosted glass piece and the surrounding regions.
