    Abstract: A membrane switch assembly wherein the internal pressure is automatically equalized with the external pressure through the use of a self-regulating vent. The vent is defined by a non-linear slit formed in an outer layer of the membrane switch assembly, the slit producing a normally closed valve which is caused to open by a pressure differential between the internal pressure and the external pressure.
