The kitchen appliance also includes an actuating mechanism for actuating the drive unit, wherein the actuating mechanism has a moveable switching element arranged outside of the housing. A switch is arranged inside the housing and an opening passes through the housing. The switch is switchable with the switching element for actuating the drive unit such that the switching element is moved relative to the switch, and the kitchen appliance has a sealing element, which forms a seal while closing the opening and transfers the movement of the switching element to the switch.
