  • Patent number: 6668626
Abstract: A system and a method for measuring and determining flatness of a strip (1) of rolled material. Said system is comprising a measuring roll (2) having a cylindrical central structure (41) having a number of measuring devices for force/pressure registration. Said devices is generating measurement output signals (Upi) depending on the contact between the strip and the measuring roll (2), wherein said measurement output signal (Upi) comprises a force component signal (UFi). Said system also comprises a Flatness Determination Unit (56), said unit being arranged for calculating the flatness (&Dgr;&sgr;1) of the strip based exclusively on signals derived from measurement output signal (Upi) values generated by said measuring devices and information about the values of the width and thickness of the strip (1). The system is continuously determining the Wrap Angle (&agr;) from at least one measurement output signal (Upi) and automatically compensating for a changing Wrap Angle (&agr;).

  • Publication number: 20020194925
Abstract: Present invention relates to a method and a device 145 for improving the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) in a system 40 for measuring flatness of a strip 1 of rolled material, comprising 5 a measuring roll 2 having a number of said measuring devices 22 for force/pressure registration. Said devices 22 generate measurement output signals Up1, depending on the contact between the strip and the measuring roll. The invented device 145 determines and generates time slots having a determined time length, synchronizes said time slots to the appearance of force components on an input of at least one quantity processor 62 of said signal processors 60 and controls at least one of said quantity processors 62 to be open for registration of an incoming force component signal during said time slot and to be closed until the next successive time slot appears. The present invention also provides a computer program product and a flatness determination signal for accomplishing said objects of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20020134152
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, a system and a device for determining the wrap angle &agr; of a strip of rolled material over a rotating measuring roll in a system for measuring flatness of the strip by means of said measuring roll, which is having a number of measuring devices for force/pressure registration. Said devices generate measurement output signals Upi depending on the contact between the strip and the measuring roll and each signal Upi comprises a force signal component UFi. The device (90) determines the wrap angle &agr; from at least one of the measurement signals UFi characteristic values. The present invention also provides a computer program product, a computer data signal and a flatness determination signal for accomplishing said objects of the invention.

  • Patent number: 4390846
Abstract: A power amplifier connection comprises a switching amplifier and a proportional amplifier. The output signal from the switching amplifier and the output signal from the proportional amplifier are supplied to a summation member which, by addition of the two output signals, forms the resultant output signal of the amplifier connection. The switching amplifier is adapted to be controlled in dependence on the input signal of the amplifier connection in such a way that its output signal endeavours to follow the input signal. The proportional amplifier is adapted to be controlled in dependence on the deviation between the input signal and output signal of the amplifier connection.

  • Patent number: 4120370
Abstract: Weighing equipment for weighing a load which is included in a mechanical system with a natural frequency of oscillation which depends on the size of the load, for example in a crane, includes a transducer influenced by the load and which delivers a signal corresponding to the weight of the load. The equipment includes a tunable band exclusion filter connected to the transducer for filtering the signal, in which the signal influences the tuning of the filter so that its anti-resonance frequency follows said natural frequency of the oscillation.
