  • Publication number: 20240147366
Abstract: Apparatus and methods to support power saving in a wireless communication network and more particularly to support discontinuous reception of a wake-up signal receiver at an apparatus comprising a wake-up signal receiver and a main radio receiver are outlined. One aspect provides an apparatus comprising a wake-up signal receiver; a main radio receiver; means for determining that the wake-up signal receiver is a candidate to implement discontinuous reception; means for assessing a signal received by the apparatus from a transmitting network node; and means for requesting, based upon the assessment of the signal received, transmission of a timing synchronisation beacon to support implementation of discontinuous reception by the wake-up signal receiver from at least one transmitting network node. • Publication number: 20240080772
Abstract: Certain example embodiments provide systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for handling of measurements relaxation and other activity skipping. The user equipment (UE) may be allowed to relax its various measurements if one or more radio link quality-based relaxation conditions are satisfied and based on whether the UE is also allowed, at the same time, to skip other activities. Based on certain embodiments, the UE may perform the measurements, if another activity has to be performed since relaxation may not provide any power saving benefit under such situation.

  • Patent number: 11924755
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer program product for a user equipment in a wireless communications system to receive configuration information that has one or more TCI-states. With this configuration information, the user equipment can then determine inactivity on TCI-states. Based on that determination, the user equipment enables either a discontinuous monitoring or a cessation of monitoring on those TCI-states. Each TCI-state corresponds to a radio beam and also corresponds to an antenna panel. By reducing such monitoring, the use equipment can deactivate antenna panels corresponding to the TCI-states. The determination can be done through the use of a timer with various time thresholds based on the TCI-state. The activity being transmitted on those beam can be scheduling received by the user equipment from a network element such as a base station. The TCI-states can also be grouped and the functionality of the invention dealt with on a group basis.

  • Publication number: 20240073862
Abstract: According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a first device receives a configuration of a paging indication from a second device. The configuration indicates how to monitor the paging indication and mapping between the paging indication and a set of paging occasions. The first device monitors a paging message in a paging occasion associated with the first device. In this way, it can reduce latency and save power at the first device. Further, it also saves signaling for paging.
