  • Publication number: 20210341279
Abstract: Electromagnetic tracking systems and methods for automatically providing the required additional information needed to identify the orientation of a sensor are disclosed. The tracking systems are configured to carry out a digital modulation process to determine one or more parameters needed for calibration and to determine if the carrier wave and the modulated signal are in-phase or 180° out-of-phase at time T=0, thereby determining the operational sign of the carrier wave and thus the orientation of the one or more sensors. In some embodiments, at least one offset coil is arranged to generate an additional magnetic field, and the tracking system may be calibrated on the basis of the additional magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 8844933
Abstract: A movable object for use in a system having means for determining whether the movable object passes a flat target plane of the system, the movable object having a plurality of sensor means, radio wave emitter means arranged in the movable object, and control means for controlling the operation of the radio wave emitter means, the control means being arranged to sample an electromagnetic field intensity measured by the sensor means and transmit data relating to the field intensity measured by the individual sensors by means of said radio wave emitter means, wherein the transmitted data allow for a unique identification of which of said plurality of sensor means measured the transmitted data.

  • Patent number: 8535183
Abstract: A system is disclosed for detection of whether a movable object, such as a sports object, e.g. a football or an ice hockey puck, has passed goal plane. It is known to encircle the goal plane with conductors (1, 2, 3, 4) to produce an electromagnetic field to excite signal emitter means in the movable object, alternatively detect the signal emitted by the emitter means. With the present invention these circuits are sectioned into a plurality of separate circuits, which provides an improved spatial resolution of the system in particularly when the movable object is close to the conductors.

  • Publication number: 20090074199
Abstract: A system is disclosed where the well-known psycho-acoustic masking effect, i.e. frequency and/or temporal masking is applied to reduce the human perception of a noise signal. An input signal, such as music or another entertainment signal, is adjusted based on the intensity of the auditory noise by applying existing knowledge about the properties of the human auditory perception and is provided to the human user as a masking sound signal, so that the masking sound elevates the human auditory perception threshold for at least some of the noise signal, whereby the user's perception of that part of the noise signal is reduced or eliminated. The masking sound may be combined with active noise control where a sound in anti-phase with the noise signal is provided for further reduction of the human perception of the noise signal.

  • Publication number: 20090038610
Abstract: A device is disclosed including ultrasonic nebulising means for providing a mist of a liquid medical solution for the treatment of diseases in the lungs, such as asthma or the like, to a human or animal user, such as a horse, the device including a mist reservoir enclosure for receiving the mist produced by the nebulising means, whereby a mist may be produced to fill the enclosure prior to inhalation thereof. The mist is therefore kept ready for inhalation for a longer period of time instead of being produced only in connection with the actual inhalation, and a more efficient and precise inhalation with finer droplets and less waste of the medical solution is obtained.
