Abstract: This technology includes a method for executing a configuration process for an automation device. The method can include detecting an automation device on a computer network using a bridge agent associated with an automation hub. Another operation is determining the configuration process used to configure the automation device for operating with the bridge agent by using automation device identification information obtained by the bridge agent. Execution the configuration process may be initiated, which is to be executed by a client application. Donfiguration information for the automation device may be received from the client application.

Abstract: A technology is provided for a method for updating automation devices. The method may include comparing a software version on an automation device to a latest version of software for the automation device as recorded in a version data store to determine whether the software version has been recorded in the version data store. Another operation may be testing the software version against an automation driver in an automation hub when the software version has not been recorded in the version data store. The automation driver on the automation hub may be updated when the test does not pass.

Abstract: A technology is provided for enabling a client device to manage an automation system. A method may include receiving a server reference for a server associated with an automation hub at a client gateway. The server may maintain automation data for the automation hub and is used to manage the automation hub. A server network reference associated with the server may be stored in a data store. Another operation may be receiving a connection request from a client device at the client gateway. The server network reference may be sent to the client device to enable the client device to connect directly to the server.

Abstract: Technology is described for providing automated access to a property. The method can include identifying an access request at an access agent. The access request can define a physical visit by a service provider during a defined time period at a property. An approval from a property representative may be received to create a scheduled visit in response to the access request. Another operation is receiving a notification from a device in communication with the access agent that a person is detected at the property at a scheduled visit time and location. The identity of the person may be authenticated as being the service provider using an authentication agent. An automation device under control of the access agent may be activated to enable physical access to property for the service provider.
