  • Patent number: 9662048
Abstract: A blood glucose meter having a test strip port and an adjustable lancet device disposed at the same end of the device body is disclosed. The device body further includes an enclosure at the proximal end of the device body which houses a test strip storage vial and which facilitates one-handed opening and closing of the vial to simplify access to test strips contained therein. The enclosure is further provided with a window which allows the reading of the lot numbers on the label of the test strip vial therein without necessitating removal of the vial. A data connector is also provided on the device body for communication access, such as to upload data from other devices or to download data to other devices.

A data connector is also provided on the device body for communication access, such as to upload data from other devices or to download data to other devices. By combining these multiple components into a single device body, the blood glucose meter requires fewer steps for sampling and testing, and makes device use easier and more convenient.

  • Publication number: 20090312716
Abstract: A medication cartridge piston of a cartridge for an injection device. In one form, the piston includes a body (32) formed of a first material and including an interior hollow with a rearward facing mouth allowing for insertion of a drive member of the injection device. The body includes a first portion and a second portion disposed rearwared of the first portion, a sealing gland (34) secured to the body and formed of a material that is less rigid than the first material, the sealing gland ringing at least an axial segment of the second portion and having at least one exterior periphery region for sealingly engaging an interior surface of the cartridge barrel, and the body first portion including a thrust surface (4S) within the interior hollow for direct abutment by the drive member, at least a portion of the thrust surface disposed forward of a forward edge of a forwardmost sealing gland exterior periphery region of the at least one exterior periphery region.

  • Patent number: 6953232
Abstract: A latch mechanism secures a computer component to a chassis; the mechanism includes a base that is attached to the computer component, a latch handle pivotably mounted on the base, the latch handle being capable of pivoting away from the base. An actuator arm is pivotably mounted to the latch handle so that when the latch is pivoted away from the base, the actuator arm will also move away from the base. A cam plate is also pivotably mounted on the base and is capable of rotating with respect to the base. The cam plate includes at least one notch adapted to cooperate with the chassis so that as the cam plate is rotated, the notch selectively engages and disengages with the chassis.
