  • Patent number: 8590461
Abstract: Devices to shift the stops (8) of rail vehicle bodies or coaches with bogies on curves and rail vehicle body with bogies. The devices are provided in an interior cavity of the frame of the bogies whose lateral edges each have a separate stop (9, 10) and that houses a lower projecting part (4) of the body. In one embodiment, on the front edge of the interior cavity of the frame (1) of the bogie, there is a pair of joints (11) from each of which a rod (5, 6) leads backwards and each of these is joined to a separate slider (7) by means of joints. The sliders (7) are able to move on guides located on the respective lateral surfaces of the lower projecting part (4) of the body, and the sliders (7) are wedge shaped with a guide located on their surface in the form of an inclined plane. The stops (8) of the body are coupled, at their respective inside surfaces, to the guides located on the respective sliders (7); the stops (8) of the body are joined together by transversal connection means (15).

  • Patent number: 8479659
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for moving the buffers of articulated cars of railway vehicles travelling on a curve. The devices are disposed between two adjoining cars (6, 6?) articulated by a transversely centered coupling or linkage (12), said cars (6, 6?) including a front-end projecting element (9) which is joined to the coupling or linkage (12) extending from the rear end of the next car. In all embodiments of the invention, as the buffers (3) move sideways under the action of skids (2) or other means towards the center of the curve at the part of the device closest to the wheels (7) on the inner part of the curve, the sideways movement of the car into the curve is limited as the buffers (3) come into contact with the corresponding surface of the wheel set, obstructing the sideways movement of the car.

  • Publication number: 20030103216
Abstract: Device and process for measuring ovalization, buckling, planes and rolling parameters of railway wheels by use of a rolling rail (2) along which the outermost part of the wheel (1) to be measured is made to pass at approximately 10 km/h. Various sensors (7) detect the presence of the wheel in the measuring area, such that they activate the device. A collimated laser beam system (6) projects a solid light beam on the wheel, constantly interfering therewith producing images which are reflected on a screen (4). These images are recorded by a camera (5) and sent to an artificial viewing system (9) where the necessary parameters are calculated, on the basis of which the required measurements are obtained. The results obtained are sent to a computer (10) where the measurement reports are generated.

  • Patent number: 6457419
Abstract: A train axle system with movable wheels, comprising an axle whose necks, where the wheels are positioned, are provided with a toothing formed with straight teeth having axial generators, the inner part of the wheel hubs having a similar toothing so that the rotating wheel is joined to the axle when it occupies positions corresponding to two track gauges, the axial blocking of the wheel being carried out by means of an outer locking bolt, there being attached to the end of the axle an external bearing (1) which supports the vertical load through a supporting part, the hub of the wheel (R) having a tubular extension with a central roller bearing (3) and two axial bearings (4), there being attached on the central bearing (3) a part (5) with protuberances (6) which assist in immobilising the wheel in each track gauge.

  • Patent number: 6405656
Abstract: Disseminated traction arrangement applied to single-axle train wheel sets provided with independent wheels, comprising, for each wheel (7), a traction motor (8), an extensible shaft (9) which, at one of its ends, is connected to the axle of the traction motor (8) and, at its other end, ends in a pinion (5), and a crown wheel (6) connected to the axle (15) of the wheel (7) and which engages, with the pinion (5) mounted on the shaft (9), so that by means of the pinion-crown group (5, 6) thus formed, the traction power generated by the motor (8) is transmitted to the wheel (7). The invention is applicable to wheel sets incorporated in the connection area between two adjacent train waggons.

  • Patent number: 6233050
Abstract: Apparatus and process for measuring the unroundness and diameter of railway wheels in which a rolling rail is provided on which rolls a railway wheel to be measured, and a guard-rail centers the wheel during the measurement process. Several light sources project light beams at the periphery of the wheel at different transverse locations, such that the light beams continuously intersect the flange and rolling band of the wheel. The images produced by the light beams pass through filters to video cameras which store the images, and sends them to a computer which can process the images and determine unroundness and wheel diameter. The measurement process is initiated by a trigger system which detects the presence of a wheel on the rail and activates the measuring equipment when the wheel is at the beginning of a measuring zone and deactivates the equipment when the wheel is at the end of the measuring zone. The invention is applicable to the repair and maintenance of railway wheels.

  • Patent number: 6003232
Abstract: Installation for measuring the wheel offset of railway vehicles. It makes it possible to obtain three circumferential profiles of the zone of contact of the running tread of said wheels as the railway vehicles travel at low speed over the installation. Once the data have been processed by computer equipment, the offset and the shape error are detected in real time. The installation is made up of equipment, at the foot of the track, formed by a running support with its guard rail, wheel-position sensors, a system for picking up radial displacements and an electronic control system. This system transmits the data to computer equipment where the process is carried out and the statistics generated and in which the results are displayed and stored.

  • Patent number: 5833371
Abstract: Device for transmitting a temperature signal by mechanical means, which consists in the use of a thermostatic element (1) made from expandable material which, when the inner bearing heats up, pushes against a rod (2) secured to a disc-carrying piece (3) and, simultaneously, to a disc (4), which, if the temperature is sufficiently high, is displaced until it comes into contact with the outer cover (5) of the bearing mounted on the other side of the wheel, that is to say on the outside, and the higher the temperature reached by the inner bearing, the greater will be the pressure exerted by the disc (4) on the cover (5) and the more rapidly the threshold detection temperature will rise, which temperature will be picked up by the pick-up device located on the track.
