  • Patent number: 7975488
Abstract: An exhaust duct assembly includes a cooling liner spaced apart from an exhaust duct case that articulate for use in a short take off vertical landing (STOVL) type of aircraft. The cooling liner assembly is attached to the exhaust duct case through a foldable attachment hanger system. The foldable attachment hanger system provides a low profile (foldable up/down) for a limited access installation envelope typical of a three bearing swivel duct (3BSD) which rotates about three bearing planes to permit transition between a cruise configuration and a hover configuration. In this way, each cooling liner segment may be formed as a complete cylindrical member requiring joints only between the swivelable duct sections.

  • Patent number: 7581399
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a suspension system for mounting an exhaust duct liner within an exhaust duct of a gas turbine engine. An exhaust liner suspension system comprises a hanger, a bracket and a coil pin. The hanger comprises a first end for connecting with an exhaust duct and a second end having a hinge pin socket. The bracket comprises a base for connecting with an exhaust duct liner and a pedestal having a hinge pin bore. The coil pin is insertable in the hinge pin socket and the hinge pin bore thereby pivotably connecting the hanger and the bracket. The coil pin also provides a dampened connection between the hanger and the bracket.

  • Patent number: 6837169
Abstract: An aluminum vehicle carrier railcar has an end door system attached to at least one end of an upper structure thereof including an end door pair, each pivoting about a vertical axis and having an inner and outer door member. The members move from an aligned side-by-side closed position to an open overlapping, nested position exterior and adjacent a railcar side. The members have the same exterior side facing away from the railcar in both the open and the closed positions. A linkage assembly extends from each pivot axis to the members, and each includes a pivotable main arm, an inner arm extending from the main arm to the inner member and an outer arm extending from the main arm to the outer member. Guides extend between the members and between the outer door member and the railcar to guide the relative motion of the members.
