With the proposed solution, it is possible to obtain CAN data transfer rates of 8 Mbps (however theoretically can go as high as baud rates of 12 Mbps depending on the type of galvanic isolation) while ensuring galvanic isolation between microcontrollers. It balances reducing the necessary hardware while maintaining or outperforming all the functionalities that a CAN transceiver with full galvanic isolation implemented would provide.
