  • Publication number: 20020035088
Abstract: Topically administrable aqueous solution compositions containing tobramycin and xanthan gum are disclosed. The solution compositions contain a buffering agent and a pH-adjusting agent in an amount sufficient to achieve a pH above 7.8 in order to minimize or avoid compatibility problems between tobramycin and xanthan gum.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 11, 2001
    Publication date: March 21, 2002
    Applicant: Alcon Universal Ltd.

  • Publication number: 20020020636
Abstract: A device for the delivery of unstable pharmaceutical preparations is disclosed. The device includes an upper container for receiving a first component of the preparation and a lower container for receiving a second component of the preparation. The first and second components are unstable when mixed. Advantageous preparations for use in the device are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5851452
Abstract: The process comprises: (1) preparing a fine dispersion of droplets or particles which contain, or are formed, of a chemical or biologically active substance in a phase comprised of a solvent and a non solvent of the polymer forming the coating and, optionally, a surfactant or suspending agent; (2) preparing a phase which contains the coat-forming polymer dissolved in a miscible solvent in any relationship with the prior dispersion, (3) mixing both phases continuously while maintaining constant the relationship between the phases and the mixture volume, and simultaneously spraying the resultant mixture in an evaporation system with temperature and vacuum conditions which provide for the instantaneous evaporation of the solvent from the polymer, causing the deposition of the polymer around the particles or droplets. Applications to pharmacy, medicine, cosmetics, veterinary, chemical industry, agriculture are discussed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 1996
Date of Patent: December 22, 1998
    Assignee: Laboratorios Cusi, S.A.
Inventors: Jose Alberto Vallet Mas, Francisco Javier Galan Valdivia, Nuria Carreras Perdiguer
  • Patent number: 5705196
Abstract: It comprises: (1) preparing an aqueous phase containing surface active suspensor agents and, optionally, a chemically or biologically active chemical substance; (2) preparing an organic phase containing a biocompatible polymer or monomer and, optionally, a lipid or chemically or biologically active chemical substance; (3) mixing both phases in a continuous manner in a constant average phase-volume ratio, continuously removing a recently formed colloidal suspension; (4) continuously eliminating the solvent from the colloidal suspension; and (5) completely eliminating the organic solvent and part or all of the water in order to obtain the desired concentration of nanospheres or dry product.Application in biomedicine, pharmacy, medicine, cosmetics, chemical industry, agriculture, veterinary science, etc.
