  • Patent number: 11341294
Abstract: Systems and methods for level set discrete element method particle simulation in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment, a particle simulation device includes a processor and a memory storing a particle analysis application, wherein the processor, on reading the particle analysis application obtains image data describing a plurality of particles, models a plurality of grains based on the image data, where each modeled grains includes a level set function corresponding to one of the plurality of particles, calculates the motion of each of the plurality of grains based on a force applied to the plurality of grains, and generates a transformed particle model based on the plurality of grains and the calculated motion.

  • Patent number: 10819100
Abstract: The carbon monoxide detector and shutoff system is an electrical switching device. The carbon monoxide detector and shutoff system inserts into an electrical connection between the national electric grid and an electrical load. The carbon monoxide detector and shutoff system senses the carbon monoxide concentration within the atmosphere. Should the detected concentration of carbon monoxide exceed a threshold level, the carbon monoxide detector and shutoff system interrupts the circuit between the national electric grid and the electrical load. The carbon monoxide detector and shutoff system comprises a pass-through circuit, a control circuit, and a housing. The housing contains the pass-through circuit and the control circuit. The pass-through circuit inserts a relay between the national electric grid and the electrical load. The control circuit is an electrical circuit that opens and closes the relay in response to the detected concentration of carbon monoxide.

  • Patent number: 10599782
Abstract: Improved translation operations are disclosed. A first segment of text in a first language is received, to be translated into a second language. The first segment is evaluated, by operation of one or more processors, of text using the pattern model to generate a first s-score. A second segment of text in the second language is generated based on processing the first segment of text using a machine translation model. Upon determining that the first s-score exceeds a predefined threshold, the first segment of text is flagged for auto-substitution with the second segment of text, such that the first segment of text is not reviewed by a human editor.

  • Patent number: 9311745
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing mechanical analysis of particulate systems by describing particle morphology of particles within the system using Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline (NURBS). One embodiment includes generating a NURBS description for the particle morphology of a plurality of particles within a particulate system, determining contact points between at least two particles based on the NURBS description, determining a magnitude of the contact between the at least two particles based on the NURBS description, determining normal forces and associated moments based upon the contact points and the magnitude of the contact between the at least two particles, determining tangential forces and associated moments based upon the contact points and the magnitude of the contact between the at least two particles, and performing mechanical analysis of the particulate system based on the contact between the at least two particles and the resulting forces and associated moments.

  • Publication number: 20090272773
Abstract: A multi-function backpack-vest that allows for size adjustment so that the backpack-vest may be worn by any user, regardless of size. The backpack-vest has various compartments in which users may place items. Some of these compartments are so designed that body-armor, personal floatation materials or insulation material may be placed within them. Also, the backpack-vest features a compartment in which a laptop may be placed and when housed in said compartment the laptop will be supported on a work platform, which is supported by straps on either side of said platform, connecting the platform to the backpack-vest.

  • Publication number: 20080031915
Abstract: The invention relates to a cartilage and bone repair composition comprising a group of human mesenchymal stem cells that are differentiated to the chondro-osteogenic lineage, by means of the amplification thereof with human serum and a transforming growth factor-beta 1 with a molecular domain for binding to collagen I (TGF-?1-DUC) obtained in eukaryotic expression systems, and a biocompatible material which is absorbed by the cells thus treated. The inventive composition can be employed using implants in the area to be repaired or it can be employed directly by injecting the cells in suspension either at the site of the injury or into the systemic circulation for the widespread distribution thereof.

  • Publication number: 20060218492
Abstract: A command to copy or cut selected data from a source file is received. In response to receiving the command to copy or cut the data, citation information associated with the data is automatically collected. The data and the citation information are then copied into a copy buffer. A command to insert the data into a destination file is received. In response to receiving the command to insert, the data and its associated citation information is automatically transferred from the copy buffer into the destination file. In one aspect, at least a portion of the citation information is displayed as a reference associated with the inserted data within the destination file.
