  • Patent number: 5364149
Abstract: A retaining spring for automobile sun visor hinges has a body member which is symmetrical about a central plane and has one transverse side and two longitudinal sides. The one transverse side is provided with a longitudinal slot, while two longitudinal sides are provided with longitudinally arranged recesses and with inclined resilient tabs separated by a slot and insertable in a sun visor. The resilient tabs define an inner recess for grippingly receiving a pivot pin of a bent support of a sun visor. A remaining transverse side of the body member together with the two longitudinal sides defines a chamber for snugly receiving means setting a position occupied by a spring within the sun visor.

  • Patent number: 5355254
Abstract: A sunvisor mirror comprises a casing having opposite sides, a cover rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the casing, an opening and closing device including two identical holding springs arranged in the interior of the casing, one on each of the sides and close to the axis of rotation of the cover, each of the holding springs being attached to the casing and the cover, retaining members attaching the holding springs to the casing and the cover so that one end of the holding springs is hooked in the casing and the other of the holding springs acts on the cover so that from an intermediate position of a rotary path of the cover two opposite automatic directions of rotation of the cover which are an opening direction and a closing direction are provided.

  • Patent number: 5340186
Abstract: The attachment device has a plurality of attachment projections (1) and respective retaining elements (MR). The attachment projections (1) are essentially cylindrical and project from the bottom wall of the cavity (2) formed in the one-piece casing (3), produced by plastics blow molding techniques, of the sunvisor. The cavity (2) receives the vanity mirror boxlike shell (4) so that the attachment projections (1) penetrate in the interior of the boxlike shell (4) through respective through holes (7). The boxlike shell (4) is firmly fixed in the cavity (2) by retaining means (MR) constituted by a plastic deformation (10) of the free end of the attachment projection (1), or by a self-tapping screw (11) or by an internally toothed washer (12), or by a self-tapping nut (14) which, in any case, presses the boxlike shell (4) against the bottom wall of the cavity (2).

  • Patent number: 5318336
Abstract: A sunvisor for automobiles has the following elements. A one-piece casing composed of a plastic material. A retaining spring has a housing for retaining a pivot pin of a support attached to an automobile structure, so that the retaining ring may snugly rotate about the pin. The retaining spring and the pivot pin have mechanical means allowing a rest position of the sunvisor to be set. A hanging bridge is engageable with a support attached to the automobile structure and an external covering is formed as a sheath. The retaining spring is a one-piece member and is arranged in an interior of the casing totally covered by he casing and held firmly in a required position. The retaining spring is accessible from outside of the casing through a single orifice formed in the casing so that it may snugly slide for coupling with a pivot pin of the bent support attached to the automobile structure.
