  • Patent number: 6056672
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for the training of cyclists that simulates the riding of a bicycle while in a stationary position. The training apparatus includes a running belt in a platform base on top of which are placed the wheels of a bicycle and a front vertical bar that secures the bicycle at the frame or handlebars onto the apparatus. The front vertical bar is adapted to pivotally swing laterally back and forth so that a rider of the bicycle may exert a force thereby tilting the bicycle to facilitate pedaling, and springs attached to the front vertical bar provide resistance against the inclination and return the bicycle to a generally vertical orientation. Stops are also provided to limit the degree of inclination of the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 4199813
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel exhaust-dyeing process to obtain level dyeings which is characterized by the step of regulating the parameters that affect the rate of adsorption of the dye onto the substrate in order to prevent the rate of bath exhaustion as a function of the number of cycles of dye liquor and/or substrate from exceeding a predetermined limit. The invention also relates to an apparatus for effecting said process.

  • Patent number: 4020998
Abstract: The present invention concerns a novel method of winding bobbins having a predetermined radial fluid permeability which comprises winding yarn or fabric on a hollow permeable core, passing a fluid radially through the windings on the core and terminating the winding when a predetermined fluid pressure is attained, and an apparatus therefor.Said method and apparatus enable "bobbins" to be uniformly dyed.

  • Patent number: 3987808
Abstract: The invention concerns a novel automatic metering system for producing a liquor containing a predetermined concentration of at least one component thereof, which comprises a mixing tank in which the liquor components are mixed, a metering device adapted to meter out at least one of the components into the mixing tank, an analyzer adapted to measure the concentration of the component(s) required at a predetermined concentration and a data processing unit, with an input from the analyzer and an output to the metering device, being programmed to effect an operational cycle which comprises computing the deviation of the measured concentration from the predetermined concentration of the component(s), correlating the deviation with the amount of at least one of the components necessary to be metered out, substantially to reduce said deviation by a reduction factor of less than 100 percent, and automatically operating the metering device to meter out the correlated amount, and to repeat said operational cycle until
