  • Publication number: 20060118489
Abstract: A method of rapidly analyzing unexpected metabolites in a metabolite analyzing system is disclosed. A control sample is run and analyzed to generate an exclusion list of unwanted sample components. A single analyte sample is then run and programmatically uses the exclusion list containing the unwanted metabolites to dynamically filter out data regarding components present in both the control sample and the analyte sample. The remaining components in the analyte sample are analyzed for unexpected metabolites of interest. The present invention allows for the analysis to be automated and eliminates the need for a second analyte sample run for the purpose of eliminating common components in the samples.

  • Publication number: 20050246146
Abstract: A numerical method operating within a processor-based environment for predicting the fill pattern and coating pressure distribution for a substrate in a computer simulation of an in-mold coating flow within a two-dimensional flow domain having a plurality of possible inlet nodes for injection, which includes the steps of initializing pressure and thickness change of the substrate for at least one of the inlet nodes, determining which of the inlet nodes are newly filled nodes and new flow front nodes, calculating pressure for the newly filled nodes; updating thickness and coating volume of the substrate, checking if pressure and time step have converged, and updating pressure and time step and returning to the pressure calculation step if pressure and time step calculations have not converged, and determining whether the substrate is filled, and updating filling time and returning to the determining step if the substrate is not filled.

  • Patent number: 6696963
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system of anticipating salt depletion in a brine tank of a water softener system, the system including a controller having a user interface and display, the method comprising the steps of tracking salt usage; determining the amount of salt remaining in the brine tank; calculating the number of days before salt is required in the brine tank based on salt usage and the amount of salt remaining in the brine tank; and providing an indication of the number of days to empty, whereby a user is able to anticipate the need to replenish the salt supply and plan accordingly to assure continuous satisfactory operation of the water softener system.
