  • Patent number: 8954046
Abstract: Currently technology encourages use of mobile applications, which executes programs on mobile devices that formerly only operated on personal computers. These mobile applications, “mobile apps” typically run on smart phone style devices such as iPhone, Android based and Blackberry based phones. Many mobile applications are service oriented and are sold or provided to the end user by the Dealer of these products and services. These applications are typically branded in the name of the manufacturer or provider of these products or services, using the manufacturer's graphic theme and logos. In many cases, the Dealer of the products or services would prefer that the mobile application they provide to their customer base be branded with their company's name, color themes and logos. Unfortunately, it is very expensive and cumbersome to generate custom mobile applications that are branded in the image and name of the Dealer.

  • Patent number: 8478987
Abstract: A method of activating a wireless IP device by providing access to an installer to a customer's personal router or modem/router combination and providing access to the installer to a wireless Access Point which is supplied by the installer where the Access Point has a first slot for a default SSID2 password for a first wireless IP device and a second slot for an SSID1 password for a second wireless IP device. Connecting a first wireless IP device while in its initial or default state to the first slot where the first device and the wireless Access Point have a common default SSID2 code and factory preprogrammed public key and where, as soon as the device is powered up, the IP device immediately begins communicating through the wireless access point and the customer's router or modem/router to the internet, checking into a control server.

  • Publication number: 20130155242
Abstract: A stand-alone, portable video alarm system for monitoring a protected area selected by a user is described that includes a video detection sensor for issuing alarm system signals, including an intrusion alarm signal when the video detection sensor detects motion indicative of an intruder within the protected area, a secondary detection sensor to detect the intruder within said protected area, a modem for communicating command signals to and alarm system signals from the video alarm system, a user-controlled mobile display for transmitting said command signals to the video alarm system through said modem and for receiving said alarm status signals from the video alarm system through said modem, wherein the intrusion alarm signal is communicated from the video alarm system through the modem and onto the user-controlled mobile display only when the intruder is detected by both the video detection sensor and the secondary detection sensor.

  • Patent number: 7449999
Abstract: An alarm interface module is described that permits an alarm monitoring system to be operational through an existing wide area network (WAN) modem that is linked to an existing local area network (LAN) system wherein the alarm interface module has a first LAN port coupled to the LAN system, a second LAN port coupled to an output port of an alarm control panel of the alarm monitoring system, a WAN port coupled to the WAN modem, and a programming element capable of recognizing an identifying address dynamically assigned to the alarm control panels to route data from a remote alarm server to the alarm control panel while also permitting data communications to the LAN system from the WAN modem that are not initiated from the remote alarm server. The security system interface module of the present invention can be used with any security alarm panels, sensors, video devices, etc.
