  • Patent number: 9357183
Abstract: A method and system are provided in which a device having one or more illumination sources and may receive information for a target location through a network connection. The information may be based on video captured by a surveillance camera. The device may adjust a projection position of one of the illumination sources based on the target location information and may project a light beam generated by the illumination source onto the target location when the projection position is adjusted. The light beam may project a pattern onto the target location, which may comprise an image, a letter, a word, a symbol, or a combination thereof. The device may receive an indication of a type of situation taking place at the target location and may utilize the indication to select an illumination source and/or a type of pattern to project onto the target location.

  • Patent number: 8923799
Abstract: A method and system for an automated dispatch protocol are described. Display information may be generated for multiple dispatch schemes that correspond to different types of emergency responses. Once a dispatch scheme is selected, a computer-aided dispatcher (CAD) may generate electronic broadcast instructions that are to be wirelessly transmitted to one or more emergency responders. The dispatch scheme selection may be in response to an input provided by an operator of a viewing station in which the display information is presented. One or more signals may be generated such that the CAD and/or an emergency responder locator can identify the emergency responders to be dispatched. The signals may include incident location information received from an emergency service and/or incident location information computed from coordinate information received from one or more sensors.

  • Publication number: 20040206856
Abstract: An adapter bracket for securing a gas igniter to a support surface. The gas igniter having an axis and including a cylindrical outer surface having an outer diameter. The adapter bracket being formed by a bracket body extending in a longitudinal direction between a first end and a second end wherein the bracket body is curved about a clip axis transverse to the longitudinal direction thereby forming a clip portion near the first end of the body. The clip portion being shaped to receive the cylindrical outer surface of a gas igniter having an opening sized smaller than the outer diameter of the igniter outer surface to retain the gas igniter relative to the bracket such that the igniter axis is parallel to the clip axis. The bracket body further including a slot near the second end which extends at a slot angle from the longitudinal direction wherein the slot angle is between 45° and 90°.

  • Patent number: 5775473
Abstract: A cord retractor includes free-wheeling reel upon which an electrical cord is stored, and from which the electrical cord can be played out. A remote finger-depressible switch positioned proximate a free end of the electrical cord operates, when depressed, to simultaneously activate an electric motor and a clutch mechanism that apply a revolving force to the electrical reel to retract the played-out portion of the electrical cord as desired. Input AC power is applied to the cord, switch, and electric motor through a rotating sidewall of the reel. When the is remotely located switch is released, the clutch is disengaged to allow the reel to free-wheel for withdrawal of the electrical cord.

  • Patent number: 4052028
Abstract: A safety clamp to which a workman's lifeline is connected, for removable and slidable attachment to a flanged structural beam. The clamp includes a pair of complementary U-shaped jaw members slidably coupled to a bar member disposed transverse the beam. A quick-release lock mechanism is provided each jaw member to releasably lock it to the bar member. Each jaw member is defined by horizontal upper and lower plate members interconnected by a vertical side member. Rollers or bearings are connected to the upper and side plates to reduce frictional engagement between the clamp and structural beam to which the clamp is connected, thereby allowing the clamp to slide along the beam. In an alternate embodiment the lower plate member is pivotally attached to the vertical side member for rotation. Such pivotal rotation allows the clamp to bypass such obstructions as beam attachment tabs without having to remove the clamp from the beam.
