  • Patent number: 7246505
Abstract: A personal air conditioning system that may be used, for example, to cool a tent. The personal air conditioning system includes a cooling lid that fits over a typical insulated cooler. The cooling lid includes a heat transfer tower that is configured to transfer heat from a cold medium, such as ice, that is located within the cooler to an area within the cooling lid. A heat sink is provided at the top of the heat transfer tower and at least partially within the cooling lid. A fan is configured to draw air into the cooling lid, across the heat sink, and out of the cooling lid. The cooled air may then be used for cooling of a tent or other compartment, for example, or may be directed to blow on an individual.

  • Patent number: 6959562
Abstract: A portable frozen drink machine that utilizes ice shaving technology for producing ice particles for a frozen drink. An ice hopper utilizing the ice shaving technology is connected by a common shaft to a mixer. The mixer is positioned below the ice hopper and extends into a beverage container. Ingredients for the frozen drink are put in the beverage container, and the ice particles fall downward from the ice hopper into the beverage container. The mixer stirs the ingredients, forming a well-mixed frozen drink.

  • Patent number: 6751963
Abstract: An insulated container utilizing Stirling cooler technology. The insulated container and the Stirling cooler include a portable power source, such as a battery, a fuel cell, or a solar panel. The Stirling cooler may provide cooling to the inside of the insulated container, for example by a heat sink and a fan, direct connection to a liner in the insulated container, or a thermosyphon or heat pipe connected to the heat acceptor for the Stirling cooler and routed through the insulated container. Controls may be provided that regulate the cycling of the Stirling cooler so that the internal temperature of the insulated container may be controlled. An embodiment includes both a freezer portion and a refrigeration portion.
