  • Publication number: 20020033141
Abstract: This assembly comprises a hopper and a manger being connected together by means of a frame, said hopper comprising means to control the dry feed quantity to be supplied, means to supply water to the manger being fitted to the frame. Characteristic of this assembly is the fact that the manger is divided into a central area for the dry feed, and two lateral areas for the water, said three areas being separated by two transversal partitions, said central area comprising a centrally located, raised portion with a stepped edge, at least the lowest step having a slightly concave section, each of the manger sides comprising a drain hole being arranged at a lower level as compared with the top edge of the transversal partitions. The means to control the dry feed quantity comprise a vertical pipe being held by an axial rod being associated to an external control.

  • Patent number: 5351649
Abstract: An animal feeder has a hopper provided with an adjustable dispensing valve which is operated by an animal. The lower part of the hopper terminates in a funnel forming a lower neck to which is attached a dispensing body consisting of a one-piece plastic part with a lower chamber in which a piston operates. The piston forms an integral part of a metal sluice which pivots about an axle which can be removed in order to disassemble the sluice. The sluice has a rear plate having a forward movement which is stopped by a vertically adjustable rod and a return movement which is stopped by a projection of the dispensing valve. An upper support for the rod consists of a small box provided with an upper slot along whose edge are provided reference marks which are pointed to by an indicator of a control mechanism. A plate which receives the feed is removably attached to a surrounding tubular body by means of a number of elastic tabs which are introduced into holes provided therein.

  • Patent number: 5301635
Abstract: A valve having a metal washer (5) slightly extending from the periphery of the passage of the narrowing (2) of the valve body member (1) avoiding friction of the push member (11) in said narrowing; and the formation, in the upper gasket (12) of a concave bevel (13) where the ball (14) engages, forming a contact area which increases the watertightness of the gasket. It is a feature of the drinker that the bowl (35) and the stem (36) are integral, the stem having a cruciform section reinforcing it and facilitating the fall of the water through the lower port (47) of a threaded bushing (40) screwed on a lower tubular extension (43) of the body member (1') of the valving device (1') on which extension there is also threaded a locknut (45) ensuring the position of the threaded bushing (40). A version having a single rigid gasket (8') with elimination of the washer (5) is contemplated.

  • Patent number: 5054432
Abstract: A fowl drinker, having a water intake device, characterized in that the water flow adjustment means is not the same as the means with which the valve body is attached to the support column, but is formed by a stem (31) freely inserted in a tubular widened diameter portion (32) of the cup-shaped cover (29) and connected at the top and the bottom thereof, respectively, to a resilient stopper (30) engaging the spout (24) of the valve body (18) water outlet and a blind nut (33) screwed on the widened portion (32) and with which the adjustment is made, without a subsequent dismantling and reassembly of the drinker altering it, the valve body (18) being snugly fitted over the support column (15) to prevent the weight of the water supply conduit from upsetting it, affecting said regulation. The support (39) of the bushing (44) which is connected to the pipeline t comprises a flexible strip (17) surrounding said pipeline.
