  • Publication number: 20160048856
Abstract: Techniques to extract data from computer-readable purchase records of a user, cluster the items of interest based on descriptions of the items, and associate descriptive keywords to the clusters, where the keywords represent interests of the user. One or more processes and/or functions may be performed on extracted data, including cluster-specific processes and/or function, including user-based, user interest-based, and/or crowd-based processes and/or function, which may include shopping pattern extraction, item or types of items availability based on time, location and other contextual metric, pricing data of items and expected pricing changes over time and seasonal variations, identification of user preferences, and/or shopping recommendations.

  • Publication number: 20150348180
Abstract: Technologies are presented that provide automated non-monetary bidding based on bidder-specific data. A method includes receiving, from a bid acceptance server, an information request associated with a bidder; collecting and analyzing data regarding one or more data points associated with the bidder and requested in the information request; packaging analysis results into a bid; and providing the bid to the bid acceptance server. The data points may be limited based on input from the bidder. The data analyzed may include electronically-available data associated with the bidder. The method may be performed at the bid acceptance server, at a device of a bidder, or at a combination of the two. Submitted bids may be ranked by the bid acceptance server according to a given algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20150175068
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for augmenting reality in a head-up display implemented using a windshield of a vehicle. Image data of an operator of the vehicle is captured and a gaze tracker processes the operator image data to determine a direction of the gaze of the operator. Image data of the environment ahead of the vehicle is captured. An environment analyzer processes the environment image data. Augmented reality (“AR”) data is received from an external network. The AR data is associated with an object ahead of the vehicle and within the current area of central vision of the operator. A projection system presents AR data on the windshield to appear, to the operator of the vehicle, to be associated with the object.

  • Publication number: 20140300565
Abstract: Virtual links are used between two different displays to represent a single virtual object. In one example, the invention includes generating a three-dimensional space having a first display of a real first device and a second display of a real second device and a space between the first display and the second display, receiving a launch command as a gesture with respect to the first display, the launch command indicating that a virtual object is to be launched through the space toward the second display, determining a trajectory through the space toward the second display based on the received launch command, and presenting a portion of the trajectory on the second display.

  • Publication number: 20140281975
Abstract: A system and method for adaptive selection of context-based media for use in communication includes a user communication device configured to receive and process data captured by one or more sensors and determine contextual characteristics of a user environment based on the captured data. The user communication device is configured to identify media associated with the contextual characteristics of the user environment. In particular, the identified media may correspond to a contextual characteristic specifically assigned to the media and may also include content related to the contextual characteristics of the user environment. The user communication device is further configured to display the identified media via a display of the user communication device and include the identified media in a communication to be transmitted by the user communication device if the identified media is selected for inclusion in the communication.

  • Publication number: 20140281956
Abstract: An electronic device includes a controller that is configured to execute an iconic menu system. A display is coupled to the controller and configured to display icons generated by the controller. A plurality of sensors are coupled to the controller and configured to detect a movement of the electronic device. Memory is also coupled to the controller. The controller is further configured to execute a selected one of a plurality of functions in response to the movement, the function being associated with a selected icon of the iconic menu system.

  • Publication number: 20140092130
Abstract: Technologies for selectively augmenting communications transmitted by a communication device include a communication device configured to acquire new user environment information relating to the environment of the user if such new user environment information becomes available. The communication device is further configured to create one or more user environment indicators based on the new user environment information, to display the one or more created user environment indicators via a display of the communication device and include the created user environment indicator in a communication to be transmitted by the communication device if the created user environment indicator is selected for inclusion in the communication.
