  • Patent number: 4874107
Abstract: The invention is a single use container having an outer enclosure and an inner compartment isolated therefrom and is advantageous for the machine washing of laundry using detergent compositions having mutually incompatible constituents. Through an opening, the inner compartment receives a constituent of a detergent composition, such as a peroxidic additive. The outer enclosure receives another constituent of the detergent composition through a separate opening. For storage and for sale, a hood crowns the upper part of the container sealing the openings of the enclosure and compartment, thereby isolating the constituents of the enclosure and compartment. With the hood removed, the container is inserted into the drum of a washing machine. Simultaneous and gradual release of the constituents within the enclosure and compartment occurs during the washing operation.

  • Patent number: 4835804
Abstract: A container containing a predetermined quantity of incompatible detergent compositions is introduced into the drum of a machine for washing laundry. The container comprises compartments which separately receive the constituents of the detergent compositions which are mutually incompatible, for example, the constituents which release active oxygen or chlorine and the remainder of the detergent compositions are separated. Each of the compartments has openings for permitting its contents to diffuse into the washing machine during the washing process.

  • Patent number: 4147649
Abstract: Concentrated, stable, liquid, heavy duty detergent composition containing an ethoxylate of a primary alcohol of from 14 to 22 carbon atoms and of at least 65% branched structure; an ethoxylate of a straight or branched, primary or secondary alcohol of 9 to 15 carbon atoms; a surfactant of the sulfonate type; and a liquid carrier. These compositions are especially adapted for stain and soil removal from fabrics, either by topical application to such fabrics prior to washing, or for a conventional fabric laundering.

  • Patent number: 4110262
Abstract: The present invention relates to liquid, concentrated, homogeneous, stable, heavy duty detergent compositions. Such compositions contain a polyethoxylated nonionic detergent compound, a minor amount of a polyacid having at least one pK value of at least 5.0, and a liquid carrier, whereby the pH of the liquid composition has a pH in the range between 6.0 and 7.5. The compositions can also contain mixtures of polyethoxylated nonionic detergent compounds, additional amounts of synthetic, anionic detergent compounds, minor amounts of brighteners, suds-regulating and pH-regulating agents, perfumes, dyes and other usual liquid detergent compound additives. Such compositions show enhanced cleaning performance, particularly on bleach-sensitive stains, and have excelled stability on storage.
