    Abstract: An applicator for applying an image onto hair according to one embodiment includes a container holding a colored gel composition that forms the image and an at least partially hollow stencil element securely attached to the container. The stencil element includes a screen that partitions the stencil element into a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is in fluid communication with the interior of the container and contains a first cavity that is preshaped in the form of the image to be applied. The first cavity is formed adjacent a first side of the screen. The second portion is located on an opposite side of the screen and contains a second cavity that is also preshaped in the form of the image to be applied, whereby the shape of the gel composition is preformed in the first cavity and is maintained as the gel composition passes through the screen and fills the second cavity for application onto the hair as the image.
