  • Publication number: 20060266322
Abstract: The present invention provides a piston for an internal combustion engine. The design of the piston is such that the contact between the piston ring and the groove, during operation and especially in the moments of higher pressure on the ring, is as distributed as possible, in order to minimize the wear rate of the lateral walls of the groove.

  • Publication number: 20060196918
Abstract: The integrated recovery process uses an electrode or added metal chosen and prepared after an accurate analysis of the base metal including not only the composition of the base metal but the physical condition of the machine or component and the process through which the base metal has been obtained. Prior to welding, the machine or component to be recovered has initial surface cleaning to reveal not only the known failure but every area likely to fail in the future.

  • Publication number: 20050028779
Abstract: A piston for an internal combustion engine of the type presenting circumferential grooves (10), each groove (10) housing a respective piston ring (20), at least one first upper groove (10) presenting a profile having upper and lower lateral walls (11, 12) radially outwardly inclined towards the piston top by an angle of inclination such as to compensate, at least partially, the deformations to which the piston is submitted when in a critical higher load operational condition, in order to maximize the distribution of the seating contact between at least one of the upper and lower lateral walls (21, 22) of the piston ring (20) and an adjacent lateral wall (11, 12) of the groove (10), as well as to minimize the wear that determines the useful life of the groove (10).

  • Patent number: 5932867
Abstract: An identification device for removable mounting on a hooked member. The identification device includes a small cylindrically shaped member dimensioned to receive a free end of a hooked member. A cloth patch is adhered to an outside surface of the cylinder. The patch includes optically coded laser threads. When the threads are exposed to light, the threads lase, and emit identification signals (signal codes). Each thread's signal code may provide, for example, a unique identification number.

  • Patent number: 5660261
Abstract: A high-speed loader loads garments onto a conveyor using two metering devices, each controlled by a computer. The second metering device is located closer to the conveyor than the first, holds only one hanger at a time and can easily be cleared to allow garments on the conveyor to pass unimpeded. The metering devices allow the computer to triple-buffer the hangers by dividing the loader into three distinct sections. The first buffer is located before the first metering device and can hold several garments physically far enough away from the conveyor to allow garments to pass. Hangers are released by the first metering device one at a time to a second buffer, which is between the first and second metering device. The second metering device is a simple air stop positioned close to the conveyor. The location of the second metering device minimizes the length and uncertainty of the transit time of the hanger from the loader to the conveyor.
