Abstract: A water valve for a household refrigeration unit includes a housing having a water channel that has a first end having a first opening and a second end having a second opening. A sealing mechanism is arranged within the water channel and movable along the water channel between a closed position in which the sealing mechanism seals the water channel and an open position in which the sealing mechanism opens the water channel. The sealing mechanism includes a first inner seal for sealing the first opening in the closed position thereof and a second inner seal for sealing the second opening in the closed position thereof. Arranged on the outside of the housing are first and second outer seals disposed in offset relationship. The first and second outer seal adjoin a hollow space when installed and seal the water valve from the environment.
