The barrier (4) can move along the length (L) with a serpentine movement, and the front (4a) and rear sides (4b) push water from the masses of water (2, 3) towards the respective reefs (12, 15) for the formation of waves in the first mass of water (2) and in the second mass of water (3).

The wave absorbed by the shore (6) loses energy by moving through the compartments and returns to the mass of water (2) due to gravity.

Some parameters of the apparatus (1) may be adjusted for the purpose of changing the degree of difficulty of the wave (2) that is generated.
