  • Patent number: 6734360
Abstract: The present invention provides expansion joints that allow direct attachment of conduits to the ends thereof without the need for disassembling the expansion joint. The expansion joints include a first expansion joint body which is elongate and is attachable at one end directly to an electrical conduit. The first joint body movably accommodates therein a second joint body, which is elongate and is attachable at one end to an electrical conduit. Grounding means is provided between the first and second joint bodies, which maintains ground continuity between the joint bodies upon relative movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6428188
Abstract: A light fixture is provided which is mountable to an overhead structure, such as a switch housing of a ceiling fan. The light fixture includes a base which may be attached to the switch housing and a globe which is removably secured to the base. The base includes a plate and an annular flange extending downwardly from the plate, with a plurality of circumferentially spaced and radially inwardly extending protuberances formed on the flange. A plurality of circumferentially spaced resilient members are attached to the plate proximate the flange. The globe includes a neck and a light-emitting enclosure integral with one another, with the neck having a substantially cylindrical portion and a plurality of circumferentially extending ridges, spaced apart by gaps, which protrude radially outwardly from an outer surface of the substantially cylindrical portion of the neck.

  • Patent number: 6139279
Abstract: A system for suspending a ceiling fan is provided which allows the ceiling fan to pivot, to accommodate vaulted or sloped ceilings, while preventing the ceiling fan from rotating about a longitudinal centerline axis of the fan. The system includes a hollow canopy defining an interior space and having an upper end portion, which is operatively attachable to a support structure such as the ceiling. The canopy further includes a lower end portion and a central, body portion extending between the upper and lower end portions. The canopy includes a seat which is connected to and extends upwardly from the lower end portion, and a guide which is also connected to the lower end portion and extends upwardly therefrom. The guide has an inner surface which forms a portion of the inner surface of the seat and defines a receptacle which extends through the seat and a bottom surface of the canopy. The seat defines an aperture which also extends through the bottom surface of the canopy.
