Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatus for obtaining and/or providing Home Subscriber Service, HSS, information. A method in a first service based architecture, SBI, capable Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, entity includes: transmitting a discovery request to a network repository function, NRF; receiving a response comprising HSS information from the NRF; and transmitting at least a portion of the HSS information to a second SBI capable IMS entity.

Abstract: There is provided a method for a unified data management function, UDM, of a communication network. The method comprises detecting (710) a need to update a parameter stored in a user equipment, UE, operating in the communication network; determining (730) a parameter update data type based on whether the UE includes a universal subscriber identity module, USIM; and sending (760) the updated parameter to the UE according to the determined parameter update type.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, performed by a first node. The method is for handling indications. The first node operates in a communications system. The first node receives one or more first indications from a second node operating in the communications system. The one or more first indications may indicate one or more respective authorizations of one or more third nodes to perform one or more actions with a group of devices. The one or more third nodes are different than a fourth node operating in the communications system, the fourth node having created the group of devices. The first node sends, based on the received one or more first indications, one or more second indications to a fifth node operating in the communications system. The one or more second indications indicate to store the one or more respective authorizations.

In one embodiment, a method implemented in a data management (UDM) node includes receiving, by the UDM node, a registration request from a home subscriber server, HSS, node, the registration request being to register an Internet Protocol-Short Message-Gateway, IP-SM-GW, and the registration request comprising an address of the IP-SM-GW; and optionally, as a result of receiving the registration request comprising the address of the IP-SM-GW from the HSS node, determining message waiting data. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a HSS node includes receiving a registration request; and sending, to a unified data management, UDM, node, the registration request, the registration request being to register an Internet Protocol-Short Message-Gateway, IP-SM-GW, and the registration request comprising an address of the IP-SM-GW.

Abstract: A method for supporting authentication of a User Equipment, UE, in an Internet Protocol, IP, Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, telecommunication network, by interfacing a Service Based Architecture, SBA, telecommunication network, the method including receiving, by a Unified Data Management, UDM, in the SBA telecommunication network, from a Session Management Function, SMF, in the SBA telecommunication network, binding information, wherein the binding information is used to identify the UE in the IMS telecommunication network; receiving, by the UDM in the SBA telecommunication network, from a Home Subscriber Server, in the IMS telecommunication network, a request for providing the binding information, and providing, by the UDM in the SBA telecommunication network, to the HSS in the IMS telecommunication network the binding information, thereby supporting authentication of the UE. Complementary methods and corresponding nodes are also presented herein.

Abstract: A method performed by an a first Internet Protocol, IP, Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, node for selecting a second IMS node from one or more second IMS in a communications network is provided. The first IMS node and the one or more second IMS nodes are operating in an IMS network. Upon receiving, from a User Equipment, UE, a registration request message requesting the UE to be registered to the IMS network, the first IMS node obtains (201), from a subscriber data node, subscriber data related to the UE. The subscriber data comprises one or more capabilities associated to a second IMS node to be used in the registration procedure. The first IMS node sends (202), to a network node, a request to identify one or more second IMS nodes for the registration procedure, based on the one or more capabilities in the obtained subscriber data. The request comprises the one or more capabilities. The first IMS node receives (203) a response to the request from the network node.

Abstract: There is provided techniques for handling groups of UEs in a core network. A method is performed by an NEF node in the core network. An indication that a group of UEs is formed is obtained. The group of UEs is associated with a single virtual External Group Identifier. It is identified to which UDM group each of the UEs belongs. Each UDM group comprise at least one UDM node. The method comprises sending a request to each identified UDM group for the UEs to be added to the group of UEs, and for each identified UDM group to, for the group of UEs, allocate a respective External Group Identifier which will serve the group of UEs. A respective External Group Identifier for the group of UEs is received from each identified UDM group. All the received External Group Identifiers are identified with the single virtual External Group Identifier.

Abstract: There is provided a method for handling a first response to a first service request. The method is performed by a first service communication proxy (SCR) node that is configured to operate as an SCR between a first network function (NF) node of a service consumer and one or more groups of second NF nodes of one or more service producers. In response to receiving the first response to the first service request, transmission of a second response to the first service request is initiated (102) towards the first NF node. The first service request is a request for a first service, requested by the first NF node, to be provided. The first response is received from a second NF node that is selected to provide the first service and the second response comprises information indicative of which group of the one or more groups comprises the second NF node.

Abstract: A method implemented by a first network node in a communication network is provided. The first front-end node provides, to the client node, a first response to the received first request, the first response including a first indication indicating that the first front-end node is a preferred node for providing a subsequent response to a subsequent request for data from the client node. Abstract: Methods and apparatus for implementation of an Application Sever, AS, (300), a Serving Call Session Control Function, S-CSCF, (200) and a Home Subscriber Server, HSS, (100) in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem, IMS. A service monitor (318) of the AS monitors usage by one or more user equipments, UE, of one or more services offered in the IMS and an event manager (320) triggers an event, based on the monitored usage, the event comprising an update on at least one of a network operation and a UE operation for the one or more UEs in the IMS. The event manager controls a transmitter (302) to transmit an event notification to the S-CSCF, the event notification including the update on the at least one of a network operation and a UE operation. A registration manager (220) of the S-CSCF triggers an adaptation of the at least one of the network operation and the UE operation based on the received event notification.
