  • Publication number: 20230122393
Abstract: The present invention refers to steroidal nitrone (E)-N-((8S,9S,10R,13R,14S,17R)-10,13-di methyl-17-(R)-6-methyl hepta n-2-yl)-7,8,9,11,12,13,14,15,16,17-deca hydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3(2H,6H,10H)-ylidene)methanamine oxide (F2), as well as any pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, for use in the prevention and/or treatment of permanent cerebral ischemia.

  • Publication number: 20220389497
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method directed to RT-qPCR reactions, preferably performed in a one or two-step approach combining the reverse transcription and subsequent PCR in a single tube and buffer, using a reverse transcriptase along with a DNA polymerase with mandatory 3??5? exonuclease activity, which corrects miss-incorporated nucleotides. In particular, in this invention we present a One-step RT-PCR, preferably qPCR, method with a novel priming strategy that utilizes a novel bivalent reverse primer, wherein this primer is used for both, i) the generation of cDNA and ii) the completion of the subsequent amplification using that same cDNA as template. This bivalent reverse primer also allows end-tagging the amplicon(s) obtained so that they can be used in a variety of applications including, standard sequencing, next generation sequencing (NGS), gene expression analysis, RNAi validation, microarray validation, pathogen detection, genetic testing, and disease research.

  • Publication number: 20210330662
Abstract: The invention relates to neuroprotective, antioxidant quinolylnitrones to which the blood-brain barrier is highly permeable, as potential drugs for the treatment of a cerebral stroke or ischaemia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

  • Publication number: 20190048402
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to methods for detecting and/or quantifying miRNA, RNA or DNA molecules of interest in at least one isolated biological sample. Basically the general procedure followed by the methods of the present invention involve four main steps: (i) homogeneous hybridization of the synthetic DNA or RNA probe and the target miRNA, RNA or DNA molecule of interest; (ii) capture of the resultant DNA/RNA, DNA/DNA or RNA/RNA duplex by the antibody-modified magnetic particles, preferably MBs, in solution; (iii) enzymatic labeling of the biotinylated DNA/RNA, DNA/DNA or RNA/RNA duplex captured onto the antibody-modified magnetic particles, preferably MBs and (iv) electrochemical detection of the modified-magnetic particles on an electrochemical sensor, preferably on screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs).

  • Publication number: 20080015092
Abstract: Bubble producing jump rope with a pair of hollow handles, a pair of standard liquid hand pump assemblies, a pair of hollow flexible tubes, a pair of cylindrical multi aperture bubble making tubes, a central jump rope member, the hollow handles having an integral bottom portion forming a vessel and each the vessel attached to each the liquid pump assemblies by a standard threaded screw type attachment, the hollow flexible tubes each attached at one end to the pump head and at the opposite end to the cylindrical bubble making tubes, and the central jump rope member attached at each end to the bubble making tubes. A preferred embodiment includes the pump can be activated during the act of jump roping by the user's hand or hands squeezing on one or both pump triggers thereby delivering a portioned amount of bubble making solution to the bubble making tubes.

  • Patent number: 5778946
Abstract: An apparatus for placing ties, for example for tying vines. The apparatus includes a mechanism for feeding an initial portion of a filiform band; a rotatable twister positioned at the front of the device provided with two openings for engaging two parts of the initial portion of the band; a cutting arrangement positioned upstream from one of the openings of the twister; a hinged guide positioned at the front of the device; a motor and a transmission system designed to be alternately active or inactive in order to execute, respectively, (1) the operation of the feeding mechanism, the hinged guide, and the cutting system, while the rotating twister is at a stop; and (2) the driving in rotation of the twister while the feeding mechanism, the hinged guide, and the cutting system are de-activated.
