  • Patent number: 11443863
Abstract: A method for decontaminating a metal surface exposed to radioactive liquid or gas during operation of a nuclear facility comprises an oxidation step wherein a metal oxide layer on the metal surface is contacted with an aqueous oxidation solution comprising a permanganate oxidant for converting chromium into a Cr(VI) compound and dissolving the Cr(VI) compound in the oxidation solution; and a first cleaning step wherein the oxidation solution containing the Cr(VI) compound is directly passed over an anion exchange material and the Cr(VI) compound is immobilized on the anion exchange material. The method provides for substantial savings of radioactive waste and produces chelate-free waste.

  • Patent number: 9527756
Abstract: A process removes radioactive contamination from wastewater obtained in the decontamination of a cooling circuit of nuclear reactors or of parts thereof or in the course of operation of a nuclear reactor. A MnO2 precipitate is exclusively produced in the wastewater with the aid of permanganate ions added thereto as an oxidizing agent and of one or more organic reducing agents present in and/or metered into the wastewater, and the MnO2 precipitate is separated from the wastewater.

  • Publication number: 20150364226
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the chemical decontamination of a surface, having an oxide layer of a metallic component of the coolant system of a nuclear power station, which comprises at least one oxidation step in which the oxide layer is treated with an aqueous solution containing an oxidant and a subsequent decontamination step in which the oxide layer is treated with an aqueous solution of a decont. acid which has the property of forming a sparingly soluble precipitate with metal ions, in particular with nickel ions. Prior to carrying out the decontamination step, metal ions which have gone into solution during the oxidation step are removed from the aqueous solution by means of a cation exchanger.

  • Patent number: 7596185
Abstract: The invention relates to a radio transmitter for the transmission of transmission signals. Signals to be transmitted are processed to form transmission signals by the transmission path of the radio transmitter. A first variable amplifier unit and a second variable amplifier unit are arranged in the transmission path. The first variable amplifier unit is arranged in the baseband section of the transmission path, while the second variable amplifier unit is arranged in the radio-frequency section of the transmission path.

  • Publication number: 20060089111
Abstract: A polar modulator contains a first input for supplying an amplitude modulation word and a second input for supplying a phase modulation word. The first input is connected to a first signal path, and the second input is connected to a second signal path. The polar modulator contains a converter having a first input which is connected to a first signal path and having a second input which is connected to the second signal path. In this case, the converter is configured to output a radio-frequency signal derived from the phase modulation word and the amplitude modulation word. A feedback path has a level detector connected to the converter and has its output side connected to a correction device. The correction device is designed to output a correction word to the first signal path on the basis of a signal which is output by the level detector.

  • Patent number: 6853262
Abstract: A voltage-controlled oscillator circuit compensates for supply voltage fluctuations of the oscillator and thus for frequency fluctuations at the oscillator output. An additional voltage-controlled capacitor is connected in parallel with the voltage-controlled capacitor of the LC resonant circuit. The control terminal of the second voltage-controlled capacitor is coupled to the supply voltage terminal, which feeds the oscillator circuit. The oscillator circuit can be monolithically integrated and can be employed in phase-locked loops, for example.
