    Abstract: In one example embodiment, a device uses a camera and an eye detection service to determine whether a user is looking at a display of the device during periods when the user is not actively interacting with the device. In response to a determination that the user is not looking at the display, the display is automatically powered off. In response to the user's resumption of looking at the display, the display may be automatically powered back on. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
