  • Publication number: 20230102472
Abstract: A power generation system for an artificial lift system includes an electrical generator configured to output electrical power in response to rotation of a rotor of the electrical generator. The power generation system also includes a polish rod engagement wheel non-rotatably coupled to the rotor of the electrical generator. The polish rod engagement wheel is configured to engage a polish rod of the artificial lift system and to be driven to rotate in response to linear movement of the polish rod.

  • Publication number: 20230066565
Abstract: A stuffing box assembly for an artificial lift system includes a stuffing box including a housing having a passage, in which the housing has a shoulder disposed along the passage. The stuffing box also includes a seal disposed within the passage and engaged with the shoulder. The seal is configured to engage a polish rod while the polish rod extends through the passage, and the seal is configured to expand radially in response to longitudinal compression of the seal. In addition, the stuffing box includes an actuator having an engagement element configured to move along a longitudinal axis to compress the seal. Furthermore, the stuffing box assembly includes a controller configured to determine a flow rate of fluid bypassing the seal based on one or more input signals, and the controller is configured to control the actuator based on the flow rate.

  • Publication number: 20220251921
Abstract: A stuffing box for an artificial lift system includes a primary housing having threads. The stuffing box also includes at least one primary seal disposed within the primary housing, in which the at least one primary seal is configured to engage a polish rod. The stuffing box includes a secondary housing having threads. The stuffing box also includes at least one secondary seal disposed within the secondary housing, in which the at least one secondary seal is configured to engage the polish rod. The threads of the secondary housing are configured to engage the threads of the primary housing to couple the secondary housing to the primary housing, and the secondary housing is configured to compress the at least one primary seal via rotation of the secondary housing relative to the primary housing while the threads of the secondary housing are engaged with the threads of the primary housing.

  • Publication number: 20220235636
Abstract: A rod rotator assembly for an artificial lift system includes a housing configured to be supported by a carrier of the artificial lift system. The rod rotator assembly also includes a top cap configured to rotate relative to the housing, in which the top cap is configured to support a polish rod of the artificial lift system. In addition, the rod rotator assembly includes a load cell disposed within the housing. The load cell is configured to support the top cap, and the load cell is configured to output a sensor signal indicative of a load applied by the polish rod to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20220236082
Abstract: A rotation monitoring assembly for an artificial lift system includes a sensor having a body configured to couple to one of a non-rotating component of a polish rod connection assembly or a rotating component of the polish rod connection assembly. The rotation monitoring assembly also includes a target configured to couple to the other of the non-rotating component of the polish rod connection assembly or the rotating component of the polish rod connection assembly. A property of the target varies substantially continuously along a circumferential extent of the target, and the sensor is configured to output a sensor signal indicative of the property of the target.

  • Patent number: 10100595
Abstract: A tubing or casing hanger seal assembly is disclosed including an actuation sleeve to be mounted on a tubing hanger, a shoulder member to be mounted on the tubing hanger, and a seal assembly disposed between the actuation sleeve and the shoulder member. The seal assembly includes a first set or pair of seals engaged at a tapered interface, and a second set or pair of seals engaged at a tapered interface. Radial sectional areas can differ between seals of the seal pairs. Further, the first set of seals can be coupled to the second set of seals such that the first and second sets of seals are energized by the same setting motion of the actuation sleeve.
