  • Patent number: 9996860
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for promoting a service using a gifting model. For example, a gifting model, for a service (e.g., a multimedia content service that provides movies, music, apps, etc.), may specify what types of online users are eligible to be promoters and/or what online promotional gifts are available for promoters to gift to online recipient users. In an example, one or more online promotional gifts (e.g., a television show, a song, etc.) of the multimedia content service are exposed to an online user. A gift request is received from the online user. The gift request may specify an online recipient user and a selected online promotional gift (e.g., an action movie). The online promotional gift is provided to the online recipient user. In this way, online users may promote a service by providing promotional gifts, such as for free, to online recipient users.

  • Publication number: 20150356449
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for identifying a location interest inference for a first user. A first set of user signals (e.g., search history, social network posts, etc.) associated with the first user may be evaluated to identify a first user location interest pattern indicative of location interests of the first user. Social signals (e.g., phone calls, emails, photo tags, shared content, etc.) between the first user and other users may be evaluated to identify a second user having a social activity relevance score above a relationship threshold with respect to the first user. A second user location interest pattern may be generated for the second user based upon user signals associated with the second user. The first user location interest pattern and the second user location interest pattern may be aggregated to create the location interest inference indicative of refined locational interests of the first user.

  • Publication number: 20150324846
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention utilize card-linked offer data to determine a user's interests. In one aspect, the card-linked offer data is analyzed by a card-linked offer system to determine user interests. The user interests are then transferred to other applications, such as a search engine or advertising system, that use the interest information to select relevant content. In another aspect, the card-linked offer data is transferred to other applications that use the data to determine user interests. The card-linked offer data may be combined with other information, such as a user's browsing history, search history, social network posts, and such, to determine a user's interest.

  • Patent number: 9129020
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for responding to a search query with search results ranked according to interest circles of a plurality of computer users are presented. Interest circles are formed from a computer user's navigation data, including the computer user's navigation history. A search query is received from a requesting computer user. The search query is directed to a query topic or set of query topics. A set of search results responsive to the search query are obtained. A plurality of computer users, each of the plurality of computer users having an established interest circle corresponding to the query topic, is identified. The set of search results are then ordered according to the interest circles of the identified plurality of computer users. Thereafter, the higher ordered search results are returned to the requesting computer user in response to the search query.

  • Publication number: 20150112778
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention describe an offer service that incentivizes people to share offer invitations with other people. An offer invitation gives a person an opportunity to subscribe to a customized offer with an incentive (e.g., a discount on a good or service) provided by a vendor. The offer invitation can take many forms. In one aspect, the offer invitation is a digital communication (e.g., a text, email, social post) that provides some details and provides a means to subscribe to the offer. The offer invitation can be passed between users that each receives a different offer upon subscribing to the offer. A user may receive a different sharing incentive based on the sharing mechanism he uses to share a user invitation. For example, a user may receive a larger incentive when he shares an offer invitation through his social network than when he shares via email.

  • Publication number: 20140372193
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention automatically link users to card-linked offers. A card-linked offer is an incentive tied to a user's credit card or other form of electronic payment. To be eligible to receive offers, a user may choose to link one or more of their credit cards within the service. The incentive associated with the offer is automatically given to the user when a payment method linked to this service is used to make the purchase. Embodiments of the present invention automatically associate linked offers with users who are presumed to have an interest in the offer. Machine learning algorithms and classifiers may be used to identify a user's interests and match them with offers for a product or service that fits their interests. When an offer is autolinked, the user receives a notification. Various methods of providing the notification are possible including email, text, and geolocation-based notification.

  • Publication number: 20140280046
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for responding to a search query with search results where the search query includes a social source operation are presented. Upon receiving a search query directed to a query topic, and including a social source operation, the search engine identifies search results corresponding to the query topic, and further obtains social data necessary to satisfy the social source operation of the search query. The search results are modified in light of the social source operation according to the obtained social data. One or more search results pages are generated according to the modified search results and at least one of the search results pages is returned to the requesting computer user.

  • Publication number: 20140172524
Abstract: Coupons may be analyzed in order to determine the relationship between a coupon's content and the coupon's performance. In one example, a service delivers coupons to users, and receives feedback on the coupons' performance. For example, the service may receive information on how often users print a given coupon, or how often a coupon results in a conversion. The service may build a model of how a coupon's features, and external events such as the weather, correlate with a coupon's performance. The service may offer a portal that businesses use to design and disseminate coupons. The portal may suggest particular types of coupons, or particular coupon dissemination strategies, based on the models that have been built from analysis of prior coupons.

  • Patent number: 6581914
Abstract: Modular fence, consisting of wire-mesh panels (1) and tubular fixing posts (3), which are anchored at the bottom into the ground or into a supporting base. The panels (1) have horizontally shaped features (6) of a depth approximately equal to the diameter or width of the posts (6). These posts are fitted snugly between the rods of the shaped features and of the non-shaped regions, between two consecutive vertical rods.
