Abstract: A system for detecting leaks in a mechanical system includes a dye injector for injecting dye into the mechanical system, and a borescope having one or more tubes. Each tube includes a UV light source. The system further includes an image detector connected with at least one of the one or more tubes and configured to image a field-of-view of dye in the mechanical system being illuminated by the UV light source, the image detector including a light-filtering lens cap configured for filtering a first portion of UV rays from the UV light source to allow passage of a second portion of UV rays of the dye being illuminated by the UV light source.

Abstract: A capacitor includes a conductive substrate having a front side and a back side, a pre-drilled via that runs from the front side of the conductive substrate to the back side of the conductive substrate, a dielectric layer on the conductive substrate, a conductive polymer layer on the dielectric layer, a first metal contact electrically connected to the conductive substrate, and a second metal contact electrically isolated from the first metal contact and electrically connected to the conductive polymer on both sides of the conductive substrate through the pre-drilled via, the first and second metal contacts being formed on the front side of the conductive substrate. A portion of the conductive substrate may be removed to leave the capacitor structurally connected only by the insulating material to an adjacent device formed on the same conductive substrate.

Abstract: An automated leading-vehicle message warning system for notifying a trailing vehicle of an unsafe traveling condition preferably includes a vehicle speedometer sensor and a vehicle brake system sensor. The warning system also may include a mechanism for determining whether a real-time traveling condition between the leading and trailing vehicles is a safe traveling condition by detecting whether the trailing vehicle is traveling at a minimum safe linear distance directly behind the leading vehicle upon receipt of input signals from a speedometer sensor and a vehicle brake system sensor. The warning system may also include a plurality of transducers housed in the leading vehicle that may be selectively toggled to respective activate modes such that each of the transducers generates and transmits a unique warning signal when the trailing vehicle fails to maintain the minimum safe distance from the leading vehicle during the unsafe traveling condition.
